Was it Jennifer? I'm just trying to figure out because I just was looking at some Chanda stuff and I found out she made her first career final when she was only 14 at the 1991 Pheonix tournament where she lost to Sabine Appelmans....I'm sure Capriati or Lucic or Hingis has outdone her...it would be interesting to know if anyone knows though

The youngest Grand Slam Final was 97 US Open. Hingis (16); Venus (17)

Regular tournaments? Not sure. Probably Jennifer.

Capriati was 13 years 11 months at Boca Raton in 1990. Lucic was 15 when she won Bol in '97.

Yeah.. Jen was 13 when she got to the finals of Boca. A couple tournaments later if I remember correctly, she beat Arantxa at the Family Circle Cup. It was funny, because the reigning French Open Junior champ beat the reigning French Open Women's champ by the score of 6-1, 6-1 on clay!

I don't know about junior GS winners in 1997 (I only know that Justine won junior Roland Garros that year), but I know that Cara Black was year-end #1 junior at the age of 18, the only time junior #1 was OLDER than senior #1, who was, of course, Hingis.
