Venus is probably playing Antwerp, but I honestly don't think she'll go very far, being slightly injured and without much preparation. Serena isn't playing in Paris but I suspect her initial results will be better than Venus'. My prediction:
Serena d. Venus at Miami and both go on to win titles on clay, get far in Paris (i'm not predicting a winner) and go on to rule the rest of the year.

If I had to take a wild guess, I'm thinking the US hardcourt season. Stanford, San Diego, LA, etc...

I have a feeling Justine's going to own the claycourt and grasscourt seasons. Just a feeling.

I don't think they will ever be as dominant as they once were, but I think that they will be back in good form by the US Hardcourt Season.

I disagree with the premise here.I think Venus' days of "dominance" are long gone - unless she sorts her head and game out. Like Capriati, she's only won one tournament since August 2002.

As for Serena, it'll be interesting to see what shape she's in and how she's playing if/when she does comeback but 8 months out is a long time.

i think justine will have the best claycourt season

but venus and serena will have the best grasscourt and hardcourt seasons

kim will have the best indoor season at the end of the year

I'd say Miami. If not there then at Wimbledon they own the grass.

Never underestimate the power of the diamond,
especially where Venus is concerned! ;)

I think what Kabuke says is true. Venus will be highly motivated to win that tournament, and I don't think she will pull out because of a nagging injury.

ITA!

Sure, she may not win due to injury but I've no doubt she'll give it all she has.
Besides that, it's not a very serious injury so if it does hurt she has only Dubai left before a month or so break. So, if she does play injured and can win she may just withdraw from Dubai and take the extended break.

Exactly. That's the way I see it as well.

I'm quite doubtful about her playing in Dubai, but perhaps she will. There could be some fabulous pictures of her in those costumes all the player's wear. Don't know if she rides, but she would look great on a horse. There are always such wonderful pictures of players with horses from that tournament. Hingis and Seles come to mind. Seles looks so natural and sweet with horses.

I keep hearing about Venus not winning many tournaments since 2002. people keep forgetting that had it not been for Serena she would have won
several Grand Slams. And she was injured most of 2003.

I am afraid that argument doesnt hold much water at all. If serena wasnt at the those tournaments then the draw could have looked alot different, serena wouldnt have taken out the capriati's, hingis and clijsters for venus to face, alsovenus may not have won them despite the fact she would have been a big favourite. Or else we cud have said this for anything, If capriati hadnt been at OZ in 2001 and 2002 hingis would have 7 slams by now .

Miami of course, and during the clay seasons, they would win atleast one title and reaching semis n finals of some other tournaments...

Then they would roar back in Wimbledon, injured or not, no one can stop them there. After that comes the Summer hardcourt season, which ms Venus has dominated, with the exception of last year.

Ok Just to Recap

2003 Wimbledon INJURED
2003 French INJURED
2003 Warsaw INJURED
2003 Miami Small Injury/off day (she's allowed an off day right?)/opponent playing 100%

2003 Antwerp WON
2003 OZ Finals (blitzing H-H on the way)

anyway, Venus will likely win Antwerp and or Dubai.
If she doesn't win by Miami, then this "not dominate" thing will be worth something, all her recent losses have been through injury

Serena will likely start winning at Wimbledon if not Miami as I doubt she'll play Doha

Itd be interesting to see how Serena plays at Miami again, because the last two years she has dropped like two sets: one per year, there.....DANG!
