Does anyone know when rachel is coming back on tour??
is she still injured??
whats she planning on doing this year??
i think it would be a shame for rachel to retire like this after injury perhaps she could have a shot of the AO qualies next year and retire there - that would be really fitting . .
i hope she comes back she has a great game and neends to be fit again

First of all, it's Rachel not Racheal :p Anyway, she still not recovery from knee surgery which means she unable to defend her title in Bendigo.
Feb 9th, 2004, 04:14 AM
like she would of defended it anyway.. :) hope she comes back though :)
Feb 9th, 2004, 06:27 AM
I don't think Rachel would want to retire at Aus Open qualifying. She'd much rather a main draw farewell.
However, I don't think that will happen unless she earns it herself.

Sorry 21 watts . . . . . . u no u cant spell that well lol
I agree TS rachel would want to retire at MD Oz open . . . but with TA being like they are i doubt she would get one (although they seem to like to waste them at the moment)
i would luv to see rachel bow out gracefully but unless she can come back and probably win the chally series one i doubt she will get one . . . but lets hope her healing process is complete soon and she can come back into competitive tennis and begin to play well and get that ranking up again
Feb 21st, 2004, 10:53 AM
Theres been a Racheal spotting
she down in the committments for a WTA event in a couple weeks
im sry i forgot which one but its good to see Racheal on the come back trail

Mar 29th, 2004, 09:09 AM
Maybe not ???
reckon she will come back during Asia now in the next few months ??
Mar 30th, 2004, 09:59 AM
I noticed her name on Dubai commitment which was obviously won't make it in. Anyway, do she have a protected ranking?
Mar 30th, 2004, 09:01 PM
Reckon she would have protected ranking
what would it be ??? . . . around the 200-250 mark i would presume
Apr 3rd, 2004, 04:17 AM
i think it will be around 220
Apr 8th, 2004, 06:34 AM
jus heard that rachel was picked in the world team tennis draft again. was actully picked by hartford and then later traded into kanas city with anna k and silvia talaja. will b interesting to see if she plays...and if she plays singles? and wat kinda form she has.....prob a good way for her 2 get some hitting under her belt. i think comp starts early july.....
Apr 8th, 2004, 10:35 AM
Good on ya Rachel !!
Apr 8th, 2004, 01:04 PM
I knew she would play WTT this year again! :D She did it three times in the past and it's for exhibition matches for teams.
Apr 12th, 2004, 01:55 AM
Apr 20th, 2004, 06:19 PM
Hope she comes back soon. Her ranking is now in the 600s
May 3rd, 2004, 07:55 AM
In a radio sports quiz last week, the host said which sport DID Rachel McQuillan play? By him saying "did" looks like she may have retired??
May 3rd, 2004, 08:35 AM
well her comeback is iffy still! She may or may not still attempt a comeback!
May 3rd, 2004, 10:39 AM
Still think she is playing college tennis is US (well when she comes back)
It hard to come back from a long lay off and at Racheals age its not easy
playing a few challengers leading into the Aus challengers late in year would almost be her goal at the moment, besides to play competitve agian
May 3rd, 2004, 02:58 PM
Exactly I think she will assess it all after/during the Aus challengers at the end of the year. if her rank isnt inside the top 500 by then she will probably retire.
May 12th, 2004, 04:46 PM
Hope she comes back.
Get well Rachel :) :) :) :)
Sadly, if she does not, I hope she will make an official retirement announcement.
I hate it when players I like quietly retire. Your still looking for their name in draws when they are actually gone for good.
May 13th, 2004, 10:53 AM
I think we all hope that she comes back
while most likely she will make a retirement announcement it will be a low key one like Annabel Ellwood (from wta)
May 17th, 2004, 10:38 AM
Hope Rachel gets a big send off if she does at AO 2005 that would be good
Jun 4th, 2004, 11:22 AM
According to usta.com, Rachel is committed to these events!!!!!! hope she plays! will great to see her back on the court!

keeping my fingers crossed that she does return !!
Jun 6th, 2004, 06:07 AM
I was about to tell the same thing! :D Hope she does well in these events! :)
Jul 3rd, 2004, 03:09 AM
She withdrew from these USTA events :(
Jul 5th, 2004, 03:27 PM
Rachel
Things are not looking good.
Jul 5th, 2004, 11:12 PM
Perhaps her injury has flared up again ??
maybe she is saving herself for the aussie challengers
Jul 16th, 2004, 02:43 AM
I suppose she'll start in Oz challenger at the end of the year.
Jul 16th, 2004, 07:51 AM
She has entered the four 50k events coming up in the us but as main draw only and even her injury rank ( i think is 238) can't get her main draw direct,
Racheal has been playing great in WTT as many of you might of seen in the pics . . . . All we can do is hope that she gets back soon on WTA tour Fit, Healthy and Ready to WIN !!!
Aug 21st, 2004, 02:02 PM
Has she retired yet?
Aug 21st, 2004, 09:52 PM
havent heard anything for quite a while
Aug 21st, 2004, 10:52 PM
I have kept on checking to see if Rachel will come back, but I don't think she will sadly. I liked her after her run at Qutar in 2001. But shes 32 now very few pros consider coming back at that age.
Aug 21st, 2004, 11:07 PM
I think one pro would be to finish on a high note
she was a great ambasator for australia and i reckon she would want to try and leave at the oz open 05 . . but unlikely she will get in (although she could use her injury rank)
Aug 22nd, 2004, 09:32 AM
Yeah lets hope she ends her career on a high, I agree with what you say there. It will be sad if she retires now. I hope she comes back and has one more stab at her home tournament the Aus Open. She has been one of the best Aussie players in the past 15 years. Please come back Rachel.
Aug 22nd, 2004, 02:38 PM
I afraid she retired too but wait until see if she will show up in those $25K Australian challengers.
Aug 23rd, 2004, 05:54 AM
one last fling will make her do it . . . from those pics it looked like she was enjoying the WTT and that will help her confidence !!
Aug 24th, 2004, 07:18 AM
And she got a new racquet, why didnt she use her injury rank and get into us open qualies??
Sep 24th, 2004, 04:56 PM
she has withdrawn from canberra and mackay singns are not good for a comeback!
Sep 25th, 2004, 08:58 AM
she needs to commit !!!
Sep 25th, 2004, 02:56 PM
Great, just great...
Oct 24th, 2004, 06:59 AM
She has? With ranking this low, what's the chance of her getting an AO WC?
Oct 24th, 2004, 03:37 PM
Don't think she will ever show up again :o I think it's time for over! :(
Oct 25th, 2004, 09:16 AM
Unfortunately gonna have to agree . . . . very very sad time when she offical says so
Nov 11th, 2004, 04:23 PM
When is she making it official?
Nov 12th, 2004, 03:35 AM
she has no ranking now
although she can use a protected one of 263 if she did comeback
