I think there will be a lot of changes in the top 10 this year. I made of list of Lindsay's points to defend for this year, including tournaments that she did not play because of injury and will probably play this year:

Indian Wells - finalist
Nasdaq - 4th round
Amelia Island - finalist
Family Circle Cup - semifinalist
Roland Garros - 4th round
Eastbourne - 2nd round
Wimbledon - quarterfinalist
Bank of the West - dnp
JP Morgan Chase Open - finalist
Acura Classic - semifinalist
Pilot Pen - finalist
US Open - semifinalist
Porsche Tennis Grand Prix - quarterfinalist
Kremlin Cup - dnp
Zurich - dnp
Linz - dnp
Advanta (Philadelphia) - dnp
Year-End Championships - dnp

Even though Lindsay didn't have a great year, that is a lot of points to defend; I could only imagine what Kim, Justine, and Serena will have to do this year to stay at the very top.

If you have a list similar to this for your player(s), then I'd love to see it. :wavey:

Well, Venus made a 3rd round in AO and I doubt she will play in Antwerp, but she will add a lot of points after Wimbly, I just hope she can stay free of injuries.

Well Justine and Kim certainly have a huge load of points to defend - it'll be interesting to see how they play the year after their BIG breakout.

Look for her to really gain points in these....

Nasdaq
Eastbourne
Bank of the West
Porsche Tennis Grand Prix
Kremlin Cup
Zurich
Linz
Advanta (Philadelphia)
Year-End Championships

This could really jump Lindsay's ranking.

Well Justine and Kim certainly have a huge load of points to defend - it'll be interesting to see how they play the year after their BIG breakout.True, but then you do have the amazing effect that Kim at no. 2 nearly has double the amount of points than Amelie at no. 3

you forgot Scottsdale (the week before Indian Wells); Lindsay lost last year to Ai Sugyiama.PLus she might decide to play some events on european red clay, maybe Rome and/or Madrid so she can improve her ranking. :)

I dont think that scottsdale is a tournament anymore, but she can gain points from madrid, and im not to worried about the points she picked up at the summer hardcourts events because she always gets to the semis and finals of those, the only places i think she could lose points on, is possibly indian wells, and the american clay courts(ameila island, charleston)

Scottsdale is no longer a tournament. Lindsay was supposed to play Madrid last year but withdrew because of her foot, so I assume she will be playing this year.

I know that Alex has a ton of points to defend. I imagine she would have to really stay healthy and play her heart out to defend those measly 200 or less points. Sometimes that can be hard. For her I think if she at least makes the second round of a grand slam then maybe she would defend at least 1/4 of her points, but that is a long stretch...good luck Alex.
