Big congrats to Linds! What a great week for her! She seems to be the only player who actually likes this surface? Good tourni for Maggie too, she should be happy with her results here. Where are they both playing next?

Was this one of the easiest Tier I wins ever for a player?

Lindsay never lost a set
She never lost more than 5 games in a match
In each match, in one of the sets she either gave someone a bagel or a breakstick
All of her matches were under an hour

Now that is dominant playing.

When you think about it, Lindsay really makes out like a bandit. She gets just about as many points Kim got for reaching the AO finals between her AO quarterfinal points and this week's winner's points. If she can keep doing this..... :D

Congrats to Lindsay and better luck next time to Maggie. Lindsay played great throughout the tournament. She had little trouble coming through all the matches. I guess she was a little bit tested in the first set of the final where Lindsay was 0-30, 2-3 on her serve. Maggie had won the last three games and seemed to be on a roll. Maggie made two return errors which I think shifted the momemtum back to Lindsay. Maggie went for the first one which sailed long and on the second one, she was a little tentative and passive dumping the return into the net. Lindsay played horrible in those games Maggie had won and it looked like her game was falling apart. Maggie shoulda capitalized on the lapse. After Lindsay held that game, it was all Lindsay from there on. Maggie played well I suppose. She was running down and bringing back a lot of balls but Lindsay was simply too good. Compared to the semifinal where Dokic practically tanked (I know she was injured), Maggie fought and tried very hard no matter how far she was falling behind. It was great to see her try everything to keep up. She did everything she could and never let up. Maggie actually hit pre much as many winners off the ground as Lindsay stats wise but there were so many forced errors from her since Maggie managed to touch many balls but failed to get them back. Lindsay was dominant in her service games, Maggie would never get another break point. Lindsay was serving big and accurate and if she serves like that on this surface, there is little you can do about it. She hasn't lost on this surface for more than 3 years now. I really hoped the match to be close and competitive but when Lindsay plays like that, there's few who can match her.. Maybe, the Belgian duo and the Willy sisters could.. well..but they would have to play very well to beat her. Maggie ran out of steam in the end (not that she gave up, just having such a big lead let Lindsay play comfortable and confident). I hope they both will continue the good form and have a great year as their careers are at the twilight stage.
