Davenport - `"If I serve well and hit a good first groundstroke it's very effective on this surface. I think Jelena was hurt today and that's unfortunate for the fans, but I just tried to play my game.''
Just copied this off another thread, sounded like someone was reporting a t.v interview. Is this true

Sugiyama is sick. Jelena is probably fine. Katarina played doubles.

The WTA these days is looking like episodes of ER.

I think those who saw that match can say clearly that Jelena's movement was limited.
I hope she won't pick up that Serena's spot next week in Paris. It was still good week for her. I think she should rest and come back to tour after two weeks in middle east.

btw. Eurosport speculated that most likely she was under pressure to play today despite that injury...

Yes i think the tour would have wanted them to play. Hats probably why people are saying that her behavior in the match was strange. I just yhope she can get back on tour, soon and play like she did this week or even better. :)

She didn't move. Davenport would hit her returns and she was like whatever! make a winner, I don't care

HEr serve was about 20 Kph slower than usual and she couldn't get back anything. The only game she won was her service game to love, because she hit 4 amazing winners, finishing the points on the 2nd or 3rd shot

It was either tanking or injury I don't know. The eurosport commentator said both; or WTA forced her to play and she didn't want to(suggested by eurosport as well)
