Well Barbora had a dream start to 2004, representing the Czech Republic at the Hopman Cup. She played 3 girls inside the top 10, and posted more than respectable scorelines against all of them.

VS Davenport 4-6 3-6
VS Myskina 3-6 6-7
VS Mauresmo 3-6 4-6

Along with those matches, she was undoubtly one of the most popular players to ever grace the Mixed teams event, they crowd simply fell in love with her :hearts:

Then she turned her attention to the Australian Open. She breezed through Qualifying with easy wins over Hrozenska, Rodionova and Benesova to reach the Main Draw. She then upset Arantxa Parra in the First round to secure her first win at a Grand Slam :D
She then lead Lina Krasnoroutskaya 3-2 in the third set and had chances to go to 4-2, however her inexperienced showed and Lina progressed in three  :(

Udachi Barbora :D 2004 is yours :yeah:

Feb 8th, 2004, 10:57 PM
Hmmmm, I wonder what Barbora is up to. She hasn't entered any of the European Indoor events nor Hyderabad or Memphis. I wonder what her plans are.

Perhaps a trip to Doha and Dubai? Who knows ;)

Udachi Barbora :) :D

Feb 13th, 2004, 09:11 AM
My mistake :p, Barbora is playing next week in Memphis.

Her qualifying draw:
Strycova vs. Lee
Spears vs. Rao
Mueller vs. Xie
Castellvi vs. Voskoboeva

Udachi Barbora :) :D

Feb 13th, 2004, 09:13 AM
Then after Memphis, Barbora has entered both Doha and Acapulco. On both lists she is still among the Alternates , but hopefully with some withdrawals she should move up. :) :yeah:

Feb 14th, 2004, 06:56 AM
Yay - Barbora won her first match easily, 6-0 6-2 against Alternate Carla Tiene of Brazil.

(2)B Strycova d (alt)C Tiene 60 62
A Spears d S Rao 61 64
Y Xie d A Mueller 64 62
(6)G Voskoboeva d V Castellvi 60 36 64

So next up is Abigail Spears, then most likely Galya V.

Go Barbora! You can do it! :D :yeah:

Feb 15th, 2004, 04:46 AM
Abigail Spears def Barbora Strycova 6-1 7-5.

Feb 17th, 2004, 05:47 AM
Barbora and Eva upset Amy Frazier/Janet Lee 6-7 6-1 6-3 to Qualify for the Main Draw. They now face the seeded pair of Lisa McShea/Bryanne Stewart. :)

Udachi. :yeah:

Feb 17th, 2004, 09:54 PM
McShea/Musgrave def Strycova/Fislova 6-7(2) 7-6(5) 6-4. :banghead:

Barbora and Eva led 3-1 in the second set as well. :tape:

Feb 28th, 2004, 04:23 AM
Hmm, Barbora didn't play Doha nor Acapulco (unless she has a WC for the MD ;) ) but her next tournament will be Indian Wells. :)

Good luck Barbora! :yeah:

Mar 3rd, 2004, 09:49 AM
Barbora's commitment list:

:yeah: Indian Wells, USA --> Currently in the Next-in list for the Qualifying field.

:yeah: Amelia Island, USA --> Again in the next-in list for Qualifying.

:yeah: Charleston, USA --> Again in the next-in list for Qualifying.

Mar 3rd, 2004, 09:51 AM
It will be interesting to see what Barbora does, especially concerning the American clay events. Perhaps she should come to Europe and play Estoril/Casablanca, etc.
She would easily make the Main Draws of them :)

Udachi Barbora. :yeah:

Mar 11th, 2004, 10:38 PM
Barbora, good luck in your 1st round match at IW. You're a great player, so keep up the hard work and success will follow :)

Barbora won her 3rd round match against Iveta Benesova 61 21 ret.

Iveta . It's bad when your opponent retires, but Barbora seemed to be in control.

This win sets up a 4th round matchup with (unless there is a massive upset)Justine Henin-Hardenne

Go Barbora!!! :bounce:

Mar 16th, 2004, 07:14 AM

Barbora did pretty good today. Impressed new people, and kept a
good account of herself. I didn't get to see the match; but things
got pretty wonky in the second set. She was up 4-1 at one point
until Juju smelled DOHA fumes, and took it to another level.

Hope to see Barbora in more Tier 1 tournaments.
A very good showing for the teenager. Too bad she didn't get a
chance to be in Maria's section of the draw, rather than up against

Mar 19th, 2004, 07:53 AM
Bad luck Barbora
But a great scoreline against the world #1

Hopefully she is still playing Miami :)
Udachi :yeah:

Mar 19th, 2004, 07:54 AM
Also, after her great Indian Wells run Barbora should make her debut in the top 100 :D :hearts:

You know what this means, right? I'm sure we she can
get into the main draw at RG and WIMBLEDON!!!!!!! :worship:

I might be pushing it; but it's not unresonable to see our young
charge make at least the 3rd round in both slams up there
with the other new, new, new, new generation tennis peer group.

Mar 25th, 2004, 07:15 PM
well that's a good improvement in the rankings. I might be wrong but hasn't she lost to Ruxandra in quali round 3 of Miami?!

Getting to Know...
Barbora Strycova

Former ITF Junior World Champion Barbora Strycova has had limited experience so far in WTA Tour events, but she’s certainly made the most of her opportunities. The Czech teenager's first two Tour main draws were in Grand Slam events, both times as a qualifier. At Wimbledon last year (her WTA Tour debut), she lost a heartbreaker in the first round against Tatiana Perebiynis 11-9 in the third set.

Then at the Australian Open in January, she reached the second round, where she pushed world No.25 Lina Krasnoroutskaya to three sets before losing.

Qualifying for her first regular Tour event at the Pacific Life Open in Indian Wells, Barbora scored her career-best win over world No.35 Eleni Daniilidou en route to the fourth round.

Not at all daunted by the prospect of taking on world No.1 Justine Henin-Hardenne, Barbora relished the opportunity. After overcoming early nerves, she led the Belgian 4-1 in the second set before Henin-Hardenne recovered to win 63 64.

"She proved in the last few days that she's very good player," said Henin-Hardenne of Strycova after the match. Strycova, who turns 18 on March 28, received an early birthday present on Monday, debuting in the Top 100, a 105-spot in the past 12 months.

Barbora has been working with her current coach, Jan Havel, for the past four years, and the partnership has produced some impressive results, winning the 2002 and 2003 Australian Open girls’ singles titles and two ITF Women’s Circuit singles titles.

WTATour.com chatted with Barbora in Indian Wells.

When did you begin playing tennis?
I started when I was four-years-old. My sister played so my parents got me to try it when we were at the club with my sister one time. I also did figure skating, but I had to choose between tennis and figure skating. I had more fun with tennis. Plus it hurt when I fell in figure skating and it was dangerous. But I still do it sometimes because I love it. But it's dangerous with my tennis career now.

How does it feel to reach the fourth round of Tier I tournament?
I feel so happy. I was nervous before my (second round) match against Daniilidou. I never played her before and she's a seeded player. I thought I could win so I played better and better. It's a great win for me, my biggest win. It feels so great.

What do you like to do when you're not on the tennis court and can get away for a little bit?
I still have to do school. I like going to the cinema, inline skating and golf. That's my new thing, golf. I played golf in Bradenton and it was so relaxing and it's something different. I'm also getting my driver’s license now, so I like to practice.

Being a professional tennis player requires a lot of traveling. How do you feel about traveling and what is your favorite location?
Oh, I love to travel, I really do. I love Australia — the people and the atmosphere and the weather. I would like to go to Russia though; never been there. If I could live anywhere I would live in Australia or Sweden.

Who have you admired in the tennis world?
Steffi Graf was my hero. She was unbelievable on the court and behaved so well on the court. I want to be like that — the way she carried herself on court.

You seem like a very energetic person, one that doesn't like to stay still. When you have a day off, what do you like to do?
I hate a day off; I feel like I'm wasting time. I have to study but it's hard because I can't focus. I guess on my day off I'll play golf and try and stay busy all the time.

Does your family ever travel with you?
My father traveled when I was 12 and 13 but I didn't like that because he made me nervous. My mum can't watch, because she gets so nervous—she can't even look at me. My sister studied law and lives in US now.

Do you enjoy playing doubles? Or are you focusing on your singles career right now?
I love doubles. It's so fun and I'm not nervous on the court because I have someone next to me.

What makes you different from other people? What sets you apart?
I'm a little bit crazier than other people. I like to do crazy things, like jump in the pool with clothes on! And I love to smile.

This is a great win :yippee:

The stats from the match are here (http://www.blchamps.com/pages/comp/stats/Match13824.html) and are really interesting.

The stats that stand out for me are 42 winners vs 79 UEs  and 40 of 58 of points won on net approches. Barbora must have been charging to the net :yeah:.

Apr 8th, 2004, 03:22 AM
Udach Barbora :yeah: Well done :D

 @ the match stats.
Great to see Barbora moving forward more, she has excellent volleys and should definitly incorporate this into her game :D

Good luck against Amelie

Best of luck Barbora :D

May 2nd, 2004, 06:12 AM
Barbora won :D
And here's what GoDominique said in his review :-

Barbora Strycova def. Tian Tian Sun 7-5 6-3
Interesting match because Barbora had a bad fall (which I didn't see) at 7-5 3-1. Until she had struggled a bit but overall had been the better player, while Tian was solid but not more.
Barbora got treatment on her ankle and it didn't look too good. But she continued, and as usual it was the opponent who suffered the most from the injury. Instead of making Barbora run, Tian kept missing. Barbora broke again for 5-2, then led 40-0 but gave away the game. She seemed to be troubles by the injury, so still hope for Tian but again she made errors, lost serve and the match.

Nice win Barbora :D Good luck against Randriantefy
And hopefully the ankle is okay

May 18th, 2004, 11:48 AM
Looking good for the quarters at least.

May 18th, 2004, 08:26 PM

I watched Barbora on monday :D she is quite funny, complaining most of the time even when she won the point :shout: and she played lots of stops because Tamarine was too slow to handle it
but she wasnt able to finish the match  served twice for the match in the second set and was 5-2 up in the tie break...

she sprained her ankle during the match and had a treatment (just like in Berlin) :(
her ankle was already taped before the match but it seemed it was no problem for her this time :)
hope she can go far here :bounce: :bounce:

May 25th, 2004, 06:54 AM

May 25th, 2004, 10:33 PM
Barbora will play Myskina in the 2nd round. They met at the Hopman Cup earlier in the year, and Barbora put up a good fight. I think that Barbora has a much better chance on clay because Myskina doesn't really like this surface. Barbora has the chance for an upset.

May 27th, 2004, 04:21 PM
So much for my prediction :o

Myskina defeated Barbora 6-0 6-4

May 27th, 2004, 08:36 PM

Great results :bigclap: :bigclap: i think Barbora can be really really good on clay! Today, she 'll play against the second seed Flavia Pennetta :scared: :scared: it should be a close match, hope Barbie can take this one :scared:
Barbora also plays doubles with Kurhajcova, they are 4th seed and play in QF perebiynis/czink, the match was suspended because of rain yesterday.Barbie/Lubo lead 7/6 4*/4 15/0! Good luck in single+ in doubles Barbora!!! :) Btw, Barbora won ortisei in doubles with Pisnik, she is at her high ranking this week 151th.Me think she can reach the top 100 soon (especially if she wins Bogota), she was a top double player in junior, so why not in pro too?

Feb 19th, 2005, 02:46 AM
Unfortunatly Barbora lost 62 61 not a great result but she played a good tournament. I assume she is playing IW and Miami next good luck Barbora

Mar 11th, 2005, 08:09 AM
Unfortunatly she lost in 3 sets with not much of a fight in the third. I dont know whats wrong with her this year she seems to be going backwards in form.

Mar 12th, 2005, 10:01 PM
Barbora  :( i was expecting a win ag. Serra Zanetti but okay better luck in Miami, which i believe (not sure) is Barbora's next tourney

Mar 13th, 2005, 12:27 PM
disappointing loss :bigcry: :bigcry: :bigcry: :bigcry: better luck at miami sweetie  :) :)

Apr 3rd, 2005, 11:52 PM
2 consecutive first round losses. I hope its just the second year blues. I have noticed people saying that she has a good defencive/attacking game and all she needs to do is improve her attitude and her fitness. I hope she can do that in the future because she has top 20 potential.

Apr 8th, 2005, 02:59 PM
hopefully Barbora's year will be going better when the clay season starts again....
She has indeed a good defensive/attacking game, hope it brings her back to the top 50 again!! :yeah:

Apr 8th, 2005, 11:47 PM
she has got a lot of potential i just hope she doesnt throw it away. Hard work is all thats needed and she could be a great player

Apr 13th, 2005, 10:43 AM
Woo Hoo Barbora won her first round in Charleston defeating Conchita Martinez 63 64 and in the second round will play Jelena Kostanic. I really think clay is by far her best surface and i hope she can take advantage of this throughout her career. Good luck next round Barbora.

I really think we need to get this thread more up and running and support and chat about her more. :wavey:

Apr 13th, 2005, 04:04 PM
great win for Barbora, i hate this 2nd round match cuz again 2 of my faves will play eachother, both need this win, so i am not really sure who to root for. so i wish Barbora all the best and hopefully she's gunna pull this one out!!! :yeah:

yeah i agree that we really should keep this thread more running, it's gunna be difficult for me both i'll try to post as much as possible ;)

Apr 13th, 2005, 07:29 PM
Barbora lost her match ag. Jelena Kostanic with 3-6 and 2-6, not a great result but okay, @ least Barbora has got a great tourney IMO hope she can continue in the forthcoming clayseason! :bounce:

Apr 14th, 2005, 10:44 AM
It ws a winnable match but at your right at least she wasnt a first round loser. She just needs to build her confidence and match play and she will be a dangerous clay courter.

Apr 14th, 2005, 03:07 PM
Saw Barbora play Conchi...she was awesome, but she still has a very bad temper. But she would bounce right back and play well after and outburst.

Her main problem is her fitness (she has improved her serve tremendously). She is very overweight, especially given her height. She actually has a very noticeable gut

Instead of getting into better shape...she seems to be getting worse.

Apr 14th, 2005, 07:30 PM

Yeah i have noticed that too i think all she has to do is improve her fitness and really work on her attitude and she could become a really good player. Thanks as always nouf

:worship: Wow  Barbia is in Doubles final for the 2nd week in a row

Great, Barbie take the title now!!

BTW draw of Prague is out, Barbie plays in the 1th round ag. Anne Kremer, Kremer hasn't a good year this year, so Barbie should win ag. Kremer ;)

In the 2nd round a possibly interesting match ag. Iveta Benesova awaits, i think this match will be a great match to see (although i can't see it) and a nervebreaking and breathtaking match for me becuz my fave Czech players will play eachother

then Safina who's seeded 1 in Prague possibly awaits...

May 7th, 2005, 09:38 PM
Barbie did it: she defeated with Loit 3-6 7-6(4) 7-5 Llagostera/Dominguez and won her 2nd title in a row :D :yeah: Congratulations Barbie :worship: :worship: :worship:  Keep on playing that good!!!

May 8th, 2005, 04:41 PM
Great win and Congrats on winning your 2nd dubztitle this year Barbie :woohoo: :bounce:

Barbora is also playing dubz in Prague, her Partner will be Jelena Kostanic, there are chances for Barbie to win her 3rd dubz title in a row :D

May 10th, 2005, 03:16 PM
Well done Barbora i hope this will translate to success on the singles court soon.

May 10th, 2005, 05:12 PM
Barbora lost to Anne Kremer today with 0-6 and 4-6 :bigcry: :tears: what a dissapointing loss, also Barbora got bageled....

May 10th, 2005, 06:14 PM
Bad loss Barbora, she is really struggling in singles, needs to take some of that doubles ability to the singles court

May 10th, 2005, 11:06 PM
She really has gone backwards this year she was winning these matches last year. I hope she will get out of her slump soon.

May 11th, 2005, 02:54 PM
I hope this awful slump will end soon too   She had a QF at Strasbourg to defend and a 2nd round at French Open. If she doesn't win a match in both tournaments, she may knock out the top 100 :sad  Barbie, wake up plz!  Btw, she plays her 1st round in dubz with Kostanic today :D

May 12th, 2005, 01:25 PM
Barbora/Jelena have won their first dubz match ag. the no.4 seeds Gabriela Navratilova/Michaela Pastikova from the Czech Rep with 7-5 and 6-3, next opponents will be Darija Jurak and Lilia Osterloh...

Also found some pics of Barbie playing Prague :)

Seems that Barbora withdrew from Istanbul, she's replaced by Abramovic in the Istanbul draw, not sure why Barbie pulled out, else she woulda play today ag. Vaidisova the 2nd seed in Istanbul, was an interesting match, but unfortunately it won't be played

May 22nd, 2005, 01:42 AM
First round v Dementieva will be tough but we all know how unpredictable she is.

May 25th, 2005, 08:03 PM

Jun 2nd, 2005, 10:55 PM
Barbora lost in the QF of Prostejov  :(, where i thought Barbie coulda been in the final, luckily she still is in the dubz :D

Jun 14th, 2005, 03:42 PM
Lets hope Barbora can get a good draw at Wimbledon and get some confidence back. She really needs it this year so far has been no where as good as last year but thats what often happens after a breakthru year. Good luck in future tournaments Barbora chin up and try and get some from back

Jun 22nd, 2005, 01:30 PM
Well done Barbora on winning your first ever match at Wimbledon. good luck in the next round

Jun 23rd, 2005, 02:58 AM
Barbora lost to Dinara Safina 26 26 but at least she won a match at Wimbledon. Lets hope she can pick it up for the rest of her year.

Jun 23rd, 2005, 08:29 AM
Pity for Barbora, she has fallen awfull alot in the rankings (round 120 i suppose) hope Barbie can get it back on track soon again :), really hope that

Jul 8th, 2005, 04:51 AM
She has picked up in the rankings again after making the second round at Wimbledon to be just outside the top 100 so lest hope she can pick it up and have a good finish to the season. She really needs to use her all court game much more and get a lot fitter and get her on court attitude sorted.

Jul 8th, 2005, 10:22 PM
Some photos of Barbora from her second round match against Dinara Safina, at Wimbledon

Jul 9th, 2005, 01:00 AM

Jul 16th, 2005, 05:16 PM

Try to keep this thread alive guys, i also will help ya, i saw that Barbora was in entry list of Vittel last week, but i haven't seen her not in the MD there, could someone tell me why she pulled out, or why she didn't play?

Thanx for your pics Michael!!! :)

Jul 17th, 2005, 02:11 AM
I have no idea lets hope she is not injured. Maybe she is finally deciding to work on her fitness.

Jul 17th, 2005, 08:47 AM
I have no idea lets hope she is not injured. Maybe she is finally deciding to work ojn her fitness.

hope so, i wanna see her back inside the top 100 soon...

Jul 17th, 2005, 12:23 PM
She really deserves to be there she has so much potential. She is never going to be a power player she could use and develop an all court game to huge affect as it would be a difference and she could definatly make top 20 if fully fit.

Jul 17th, 2005, 09:17 PM

indeed, i really hope she works on her fittness, and comes back stronger then ever, she deserves to be in the top 20!

Jul 21st, 2005, 05:20 AM
Barbora is a direct entrent into the US open so that is good news.

Jul 21st, 2005, 09:11 AM
Yeah hope she does well there, wanna see her back into the top 100 soon, i think she can, if she has practiced really really hard, then she could be dangerous on the USO.

Does she play any tourneys before?, i think she has to qualify becuz she's outside the top 100 :crying2: or does she just play challengers?, haven't seen anything yet...

Jul 21st, 2005, 10:46 AM
I think playing Challengers would be a great idea it would get her confidence back and get her match fit

Jul 21st, 2005, 04:43 PM
Yes and it would do good to her ranking as well ;) :)

Jul 26th, 2005, 09:50 PM
Barbora is 101 in the rankings this week..., hope she can crack the top 100 again soon :yeah:
And she's committed to play the 50k challenger of Martina Franca in Italy, begins on August 1th (the period that i'll be on holiday)

Aug 10th, 2005, 12:22 PM
Barbora lost to a wild card first round which is really dissapointing. Her season seems to be going from bad to worse

Aug 15th, 2005, 03:43 PM
hey :wavey:

Sorry i didn't post for the last 3 weeks, i was on vacation, so inactive on here, have lost my sight a lil on Barbora hows she doing?

Aug 16th, 2005, 02:16 PM
I have not heard much about her lately if she is playing challengers or not since her first round loss. She could play forest Hills as a warm up to the US Open but maybe she will decide just to work hard and come into the US Open fitter and ready to go.

Aug 24th, 2005, 10:20 PM

Well Barbora will compete on the USO next week, she'll play in the first round against Marion Bartoli, and if she wins she'll play in the 2nd round against the winner of Perry against Molik the no.14 seed.

C'mon Barbora, let's get back to the top 100 again!!!! :bounce:

Aug 25th, 2005, 02:17 AM
This is a pretty tough oppening round but at her best she could win this and challenge the matchless Molik lets hope she has been working hard and comes to play. Good luck Barbora

Aug 30th, 2005, 09:50 AM
Barbora lost to Bartoli first round 3/6 0/6 so another dissapointing performance from her

Aug 30th, 2005, 10:48 PM
:( terrible loss , but i hope Barbora can pick it up again soon :)

Sep 1st, 2005, 03:48 PM
The USO isn't over for Barbora just yet, she'll play her first round doubles match with Kveta Peschke tonite..

I am sure she can do better then in singles, Goooo Barbora :yeah:

Sep 1st, 2005, 11:47 PM
Good luck in the doubles

Sep 5th, 2005, 06:18 AM
Oh Barbora, such a terrible year. :sobbing:

She really needs to get into better shape, and develop an all-round game. She has great volleys, but she never uses them.

Sep 5th, 2005, 06:32 AM

Tell me about it she needs a good coach and fitness trainer.

Sep 5th, 2005, 06:36 AM
Barbora's upcomming tournaments :-

:yeah: III Portoroz, Slovenia.
:yeah: III Guanzghou, China.

She's in the Main Draw for both. :woohoo:

Hopefully we'll see some good results, considering she made the Semi Finals in Guangzhou last year. The bad news is that those points will be coming off.

Sep 6th, 2005, 09:03 PM
Well let's hope Barbora has some great results at both tourneys, hope she can return back to the top 100 before the season ends, C'mon Barbora you can do it, show them all you got!!! :bounce:

Sep 13th, 2005, 11:43 AM
Good luck in these up an coming tournments Barbora. She really ahould do well in these tournaments if she is playing well. I hope the real Barbora turns up.

Sep 17th, 2005, 03:50 PM
Barbora will play the Banka Koper Open in Portoroz, Slovenia this upcoming week it's a tier IV tournament, in which i hope Barbora will find her way to the top 100 again, must be possible for Barbora to end the year in the top 100, don't you think?.

Barbora will play a Q in the first round, Q are always tough to play, so i wonder who will the opponent of Barbora..., in round 2, Katarina Srebotnik the no.6 seed, or Henrieta Nagyova will be awaiting..

Good Luck in this tournament Barbora!! you can do it girl :bounce:

Sep 18th, 2005, 04:10 AM
She definatly deserves to be in the top 100 and she is not that far away. She is very capable of doing well in these smaller tournaments. I hope this is just the second year blues and that she will bounce back next year.

Sep 18th, 2005, 04:15 AM
Barbora withdrew. :sobbing:

It's a shame because she really won't get many more oportunities to play in the Main Draws of events like Portoroz with her Guangzhou points coming off soon.

Having said that, I hope she isn't injured, and I hope it isn't serious.

Sep 26th, 2005, 02:55 AM
She isn't in the Guangzhou draw either.

I really hope she isn't injured.

Sep 26th, 2005, 12:34 PM
Hopefully she is in heavy training and really trying to work on her game and fitness

Sep 26th, 2005, 08:08 PM
Oh gosh, i really don't hope too that Barbora is injured, if so Get well soon, sweetie

Yeah MMF we can only hope she's back in heavy training and really trying to work on her fitness and game, wonder when we'll hear that Barbora will play again....

Sep 26th, 2005, 11:56 PM
Is she commited to any tournaments ?

Sep 27th, 2005, 08:48 AM
I haven't really checked, so i dunno really, but i will check that out soon ;)

Sep 27th, 2005, 01:12 PM
Maybe she will play some challengers. I suppose we will just wait and see if her name pops up in a draw somewhere.

Sep 27th, 2005, 02:08 PM
Haven't seen her name on any upcomming events.

I really hope she's working on her fitness. She could easily be top 20 if this improved.

Sep 27th, 2005, 02:37 PM

Oct 2nd, 2005, 11:41 AM

It's great to see Barbora back. :D

She does have a tough section though - Misa, Vika and Katya B, all good youngsters.

Oct 2nd, 2005, 12:34 PM
Great to see Barbora back...

Hope she will do some damage in the draw and really goes far here, though she has indeed a not easy section, she should make progress towards the top 100 once again..

Jdem Barbora, go for it girl!!! :bounce:

Oct 3rd, 2005, 01:28 PM
Unfortunatly our happiness was short lived she lost 61 26 26. I think this score line proves that her fitness is not up to scratch as she cant keep up a good level. I dont know what to think, she was winning these matches last year.

Oct 3rd, 2005, 10:11 PM
:( :(

Such a pity, but i hope Barbora will play soon enough again to get her rank on the track again, would she play qualies in Moscow or not?, what do you think guys?

Oct 3rd, 2005, 11:11 PM
Good news guys the result on WTATOUR.com has been changes Barbora won 46 63 62. Good luck in the next round Barbora

Oct 4th, 2005, 06:35 AM
Great win Barbora. :D

Good luck in doubles with Edina too.

Oct 4th, 2005, 01:56 PM
Phiew, good that the result was wrong :D

Well done on the win Barbie :D :yeah:

Keep it up and good luck :yeah:

Oct 4th, 2005, 02:20 PM
Well Barbora's 2nd round opponent will be Michaela Krajicek, it will be a very tough match (as well for me since i like Misa, cuz she's our lands hope in tennis) but i hope Barbora will pull through....

Oct 4th, 2005, 02:49 PM
Misa is a big hitter who is young and inexperienced. Barbora has to mix it up and make Misa hit another shot if she wants to win this match. Good luck Barbora.

Oct 5th, 2005, 12:19 PM
(5) Michaella Krajicek (NED) d. Barbora Strycova (CZE) 63 36 62

Barbora :sobbing:

Hopefully she can get a few wins in doubles.

Oct 5th, 2005, 12:41 PM
Poor Barbora at least it was 3 sets. I hope she can put things back together next year.

Oct 6th, 2005, 07:56 PM
Pity for Barbora, but i saw this one coming, but hopefully this will set her right on track again, hopefully some good results will follow soon :D

Oct 7th, 2005, 02:09 PM
Barbora's back in action. :D

Bangkok Qualifying Draw
4-Martina Muller (GER) vs Montinee Tangphong (THA)
WC-Nudnida Luangnam (THA) vs Trudi Musgrave (AUS)
Babora Strycova (CZE) vs Su-Wei Hsieh (TPE)
6-Ashley Harkleroad (USA) vs Vasilisa Bardina (RUS)

Apart from doing well in a couple of the Asian challengers, Su-Wei has struggled. Especially as of late.

Good luck Barbora. :D It's really good to see you back. :hearts:
