Patty has won 10 straight games and in that stretch Dechy has literally won only about six points! Patty has lost only 1 point on her 1st serve (94% winning 1st serve points). She is serving her opponent off the court in a way that you rarely see in women's tennis.

Looks like Dechy is fighting back, though.

Patty is so scary when she's playing well... and it's been over a year since she's done it.

I just hope Zhoo-steen doesn't get wind of the 211 kph serve at
dinner tonight. :haha:

At this rate..let's talk semi finalist. Patty will blow Lisa Raymond
away. Patty -vs- Kim semi final. Kim isn't playing that well...
I can feel an upset coming. Patty in the finals! woohooo!

Thank you tennis gods!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!

Well it may explain there were those 16 aces in her first two matches....

If 211 kph is true you can see why people are having difficulty returning her.

If the radar gun is repeatedly having difficulty fixing the position of her ball because of how she hits it that also sorta suggests why the opponents can't react to it either.

It's that lefty kick serve out wide she does. On it's best day that
serve is un-returnable. If the opponent does get a hit, it's usually
comes off the frame looking like a miss hit. :)

The 211 kph is not true LOL - but Patty is serving awfully well. She's been hitting consistently hard serves in the 170s, the fastest i saw was 177 (about 110 mph). Patty has been killing opponents with her serving for about the last 6 months. Even against Tanasugarn at the USO last year, which Patty lost, she was serving great - her ground game was just off that day.

Patty had a glitch there against Dechy but she recovered her form in time. Scratchy at the start and finish, but for 10 games in the middle of the match, she was untouchable.

starting to look like Rainer Hofmann might not be such a bad coach after all ;)
