Then she won't be in a good shape to beat Myskina... :crying2: That's too bad.... I think she should give Myskina a walkover and go home to prevent further injury...

That's so sad...

sorry to hear, would have been an awesome match. Well looks like Chanda will have to do what Maria wont be able to do and thats kick the crap out of Myskina.

perhaps she feels this gives her the best chance to BEAT myskina... players pull out of the doubles all the time and then play their singles matches if they don't feel 100%

Stupid rebound-ace! Momo is also injured. I think there wouldn't be a winner this year, everyone will retire before the final.

:haha: You are cute.... wishful thinking...

Justine could walk to the final without playing and win with Clisjters or Venus giving her a trophy.

I agree, in 2002 Kim pulled out of the doubles in the 3rd or 2nd round because of her shoulder injury but went on to make the semis in singles. This doesn't mean she can't win her singles against Myskina.

She hasn't actually withdrawn; she just retired from yesterday's doubles match. As of now she will still play singles

The injury was likely caused or aggravated by the stupid surface that is used in the AO. It should be banned FOREVER!!!

 at two people in this thread who are outwardly celebrating a 16 year old girl's pain...

When their faves get injured and someone says something remotely similar to what they said they'll go ballistic.

There are a lot of player in the wTA/ATP that I do not like I would never, however wish upon them misfortune or injury. SHAME ON YOU! OH SHAME, SHAME!
Why does AZZA have only green rep. points?

http://health.allrefer.com/pictures-images/treatment-for-leg-strain.html

I had that injury when I played slo-pitch last summer.. it was painful. I didn't warm up enough and that caused to pull muscles. It took me a couple of days to heal with treatments. It's not a serious injury.. it needs the time to heal.

I think she should be ok if she gets lots of treatments from yesterday and today.

I hope she can play against Myskina, that could be a great match.
