her ranking will drop, i believe she made Rd 16 last year didn't she? And now highest seed for venus is Paola Suarez :eek:

She is the highest seed on the women's side to lose so far today. The only seeds to get through are Myskina (6), Schnyder (22) and the 23rd seed (I can't spell her name).

No, she made round 2 last year... she'll only fall if Chanda or Venus gain enough points. Missed her chance to take advantage of Lena D's early loss though.

Nah she lost to Nadia Petrova in the 2nd round here last year. So she won't lose anything at all.
It ain't matter whether it's Paola or Ai who is the highest ranked left in Vee's quarter as neither of them would have any chance to challenge vee.
