Oh God! Could it be? Could it really be one of those weeks were
she transforms to into one of the most talented tennis players
in the world? Again? Just for fun?

Well we must remember Greenout, that She has played two 3 setter games, thus she has had alot more service games to produce more serves, I would love her to be the most talented, Just like in Zurich or at Charlestonjust over a year ago, but we know with Patty, Plays like Number 1 on one day and then plays shockingly the next ;)

Rothes, in your signature your listing of Patty's match record is wrong. She is not 3-2, she is 3-1. The walkover does not count as a loss, because Patty didn't step on the court for the match against Dechy. Pardon me for correcting you - thanx.

Getting a little nostalgic for the good old days, Greeny? ;-)

Yes. (misty eyed..pass the tissues.) Damn it (blows nose in tissue).
Those were the years. (Cue: sappy "Beaches", "the Way we Were" soundtrack
music) Great years. (Cue: Montages of matches) So much talent and..

mangy dog?? lol, that's not very nice. i'm not going down to melbourne until sunday so i'm praying she gets past suarez so i can see her. if she does beat suarez she has a great shot at making the quarters now sugiyama is gone. i saw her lose to coetzer last week and the only part of patty in the AO i have seen was her bartoli hitting an backhand wide on match point and patty pumping her fist in celebration. she looked very happy and was wearing a new outfit that i haven't seen anyone else in.

i will try to report in if i get to see patty. i have tickets every day next week so i'm pretty excited

another drink, bartender - better make it a double (sniffle, sniffle)

vogus and greeny blubber in their vodka & tonics as they recall the sweet, innocent, chubby-cheeked Patty of unlimited talent & potential... (slow Carribbean music plays in the background) instead of the selfish, callous, icy-hearted Patty who married the evil German criminal

on the other hand, a win's a win, who the hell cares...

switz you er, sly devil! Wait till i get my hands on the guy that called you a mangy dog when he thought you weren't around!

Yeah, if Patty beats Suarez she plays winner of Obata/Dechy, either of whom would be IMO an easier match than Suarez. A match report would be nice as there is no information on the websites or any articles that i know of. Did Patty look hobbled in the Coetzer match?

I was there and it was a great match, all the players seem to have similar styles but Schnyder has her own style and it is great. Some1 screamed "Hopp Hopp Patty" a lot :p

(drum intro of Led Zeppelin's "Rock n Roll" kicks in, then the obnoxious electric guitar riff, as Stravinsky continues banging out loud dissonant destructive chords on the piano)

Oh no! What? No Ai? No Ai "Bullet Train" Sugiyama in the draw?.
The heavens have opened up in the section of the draw.
I'm looking at Venus in the QF's. I hear she could be really injured.
This is the one break we needed. I would be happy if Patty could
get into the QF's and beat Venus, thus building her reputation
back up to snuff. I don't care if she lost to Aussie Kim, as long
as she can take down the injured Venus for the fame of it. heh.

I sound so callous. Looking forward to Patty taking down an
injured Venus. It wouldn't even be a credible win, right? Nah!
Who cares! :haha: :haha:

Come on Patty. It's not like I don't have any morals just because
I'm a NNR-DEN supporter. What was the big deal back in Paris
about anyway? She just said "hey" during her semi finals match
and people reacted like they heard she was hiding Osama Bin laden
back in her apartment back in Belgium or something? ;)

Morals isn't the issue here. Patty needs a win! Something big,
newspaper coverage that sort of stuff. Taking down the number 3
seed is perfect. (Mad scientist laughter...)

well patty got her first win over suarez in sydney last year so there is hope. patty was in control against coetzer and was staying remarkable error free for the first set and half against coetzer's return everything game. a line call went against her in the middle of the second set and patty just fell into a heap and didn't win another game. patty can only beat a player like coetzer when her game is at it's peak. the smae goes for suarez, but i have good feeling about this match, i think she'll will win.

It's Chinese New Year's. Year of the Monkey.
Monkey? Is this a good omen of sorts. Patty wins her
match the day the Lunar New Year begins? Holy Feng Sui!

"Patty Will Win the AO 2004!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

:timebomb:

Think about it? Who really has the talent enough to pull one
of greatest upsets/escapes in WTA that's left in the draw
against the great contenders? The only other person has
just been beaten today...Ai. Patty can match up against
Amelie, Kim, Venus, Lindsay and Justine.

It's amazing how you can work "magic" with the draw after
a bottle or two of wine and... ;)

How Pathetic! Player who beat Serena "fair and square" @ the '02 FCC (when she had a Competent Coach) would get an edge (don't bet on it yet) Vs. Venus, and all you care about is the result? Fuck what "Patty needs" (other than Freedom From you-know-who). So based on this post, no you DON'T have any morals.

WE'RE ALL JUST JOKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's a tongue in cheek pieces. If you have read the posts prior to
this you would know that it's all very, very jokey.

Don't you think we know the chances of this happening are
virtually unrealistic?

There's a self deprecating tone to this thread. I'm surprised you
didn't catch it.

Why are you taking everything so literally anyway? I'm just
joking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chill out. Peace.

I try no to get too excited about these early results... (you never know which Patty is going to turn up for her next match) but it's difficult..especially now the draw has indeed opened up :-) Suarez is not an easy opponent, but I like her chances to make a QF once again (hope I'm not jinxing it)
