Yeah. There's a special AO 2004 promotion this year. The Singapore Lawn and
Tennis Club received an special invite to send over 4 junior tennis players to
be ball kids at the event. There's a cute article about the lucky 4 kids who
were chosen for a the special "free" trip and experience to be a part of
a grand slam tennis event.

It wasn't a continous 13 hours last year.
Thank you Singapore Lawn and Tennis club! ;)

Went for a jog at East Coast Park so, I came back at 9:30am checked off and on waiting for Justine's match.

Anyway, Bubble. The camera was stuck on Rod Laver Arena. I think that's the main schedule. Live matches on Center Court, everything else is shown between it on a tape delay basis.

Today it was live on Schutler, Justine's match from the first set at 2-0 to the end.Delayed clips of the second set of Tammy, Amelie, Lindsay. Clips of the last two sets of Guga, the last set of Paradorn, some match points of Jankovic, Kapros,Grosjean and all of Andy Roddick into the entire Rod Laver Arena session matches live.

Yeah...it started live with Marat(entire match) final set of Paradorn,
2nd set of Justine, tape Amelie (2nd set) back live Agassi (entire match), tape delay of Lindsay (entire match), tape delay of Eleni (midway thru of 3rd set).

I didn't watch any of the night session because I don't like Roddick.

From what I've heard we are actually getting the best TV coverage
of the event. The Aussie's aren't getting Lindsay matches because
it's on the same time as Alicia Moliks. The USA viewers have only
gotten to see Justine today and that's only the second set. They
have yet to see Amelie, Myskina or Maria as we have done this week.

Grice
Jan 23rd, 2004, 12:45 PM
that's good, so we're getting a balanced coverage. But i reckon most of the matches they show 'live' are those on Rod LAver? which means they might not show Ferrero's match tomoro.

yeah, I agree that we are getting the best coverage so far.
I have always like Supersports balanced coverage more than the ESPN Star sports 's biased coverage (usually we can only see the hewitts, agassi, roddicks, williams and henmans matches only  ) which covers Wimbledon and the US Open.

I enjoyed watching the whole of Marat's match today :lick: and henin's match.

Like Greenout, I chose to forgo watching the night coverage as I can't stand watching Roddick play.

No it's listed under SUPERSPORTS highlights for 2004 on the website.
the French Open, WTA, ATP and Davis CUP are the tennis events
we'll be able to see. I think they chose not to telecast Fed Cup this

Greenout
Jan 24th, 2004, 04:46 AM
That should be later on after Rod Laver day session is over. So far it's
Roger(entire match) the 2nd set of Sly -vs- Amy, 2nd set of Venus -vs- Lisa,
and cut midway into Kim -vs- Dinara today. The camera's stuck on
Scud until the end of his match.

I went for a jog and got soaked. I guess the Maria/Myskina match
was never shown except for match points or something. Let's
check in with the highlight show tonight at 9pm. I"ll be up late anyway
watching the FA Cup so...

Sunday looks to be an amazing day of tennis. Amelie vs Australia,
LD -vs- Vera, Paradorn -vs- Agassi, and Justine.

Are you all still having CNY parties or has everyone
gotten tired yet? Sneaking off to KFC? ;)

Matches of Amelie, Lindsay, Andre , roddick and the last set of Safin's matches are shown today.

The last set of Safin's 4 set win over Blake is incredible.
Marat hit the shot of the tournament. He tried to chase down a shot in mid-court and can't get there in time and he dived and threw his racket at the ball and the ball lobs over Blake for a winner to get the breakpoint to serve out the match!
Blake could not believe it and was in a daze for a few seconds at the net... :)

"Good coverage"? No. The Best coverage is more like it.
No one has seen as many "live" matches as we have.
Amazing! I think I'll sign up for permanent residency at
this rate. :)

Let's revive the S'pore thread after the Aussie Open in the
non-tennis section. :) It might be more interesting if
we called it a SouthEast Asian United thread or something
so our neighbors in Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand can
join in the topics too. This will ensure that a wide variety
of voices can be heard. :)

Super Sports really covers the grand slams better than Star Sports which does Wimbledon and US Open.
