Boiled Egg - cnac-ee-6o! Nice behind the scenes video you won't see on tv. Maria is so nice and cute it is easy to forget that she is a world class athelete who works hard training and practicing. Her agility and talent are extraordinary, and she needs every bit of it to keep up with players who are 6-7 inches taller and 40-50 pounds stronger than she is. BTW, it is clear she and big Maria have way more fun when the grown ups aren't around.

As you may have seen, these matches were originally uploaded to RapidShare.com. I downloaded them all and then, when I saw that they were a bit interlaced, I deinterlaced and uploaded them to Megaupload. Also the original vids were in 4:3 aspect ratio (640x480), so I cropped out the black parts on the sides and made 624x352 widescreen vids. Hope you'll like it!

I believe that every player respects a former tennis champion no matter the circumstances . Nastase still plays tennis and he also is a reputable businessman . Believe it or not , he and his partner Ion Tiriac organized the WTA Masters Champinonship in 2007 . So ,as you see he influences worldwide tennis , which makes him a very important person to respect and admire.

For those of you who couldn't quite figure out how to sign up to Naver (such as myself!) but who still want to see the Maria's Seoul singles final or doubles or whatever round, there is video on demand at hansolopen.com. I found the streaming quite poor and stop-start, but I discovered (after a full day of trying to do it yesterday) that you can download it with the right tools. Yay! :bounce: The VOD doesn't appear in Firefox but it does in IE.

In Firefox you can copy and paste the URL (I've edited this after Krzysiu pointed out this was in short form) http://222.122.66.152/hansol/vod_popup.php

Then you will have a list of streaming videos. When you play each one (by clicking it) you can right click on the video, check properties, and find the address of the video. It will tell you the address is mms://.... something. This will only work in Firefox. IE seems to try to hide the URL from you. But actually, I found out that the real address (for the purpose of downloading and saving) starts with rtsp. Otherwise the addresses for the files are the same.

So the singles final is rtsp://222.122.66.152/speedstn/wmv/hansol/vod_20080928_1.wmv
the doubles final is rtsp://222.122.66.152/speedstn/wmv/hansol/vod_20080928_2.wmv
Maria's single semi is rtsp://222.122.66.152/speedstn/wmv/hansol/vod_20080927_1.wmv

etc etc.

As Krzysiu points out below, firefox and IE won't recognise those addresses. They will recognise addresses like mms://222.122.66.152/speedstn/wmv/hansol/vod_20080928_1.wmv instead. But when you try to download it using an application like orbitdownloader (the one I used), using the mms address will result in a socket connection error. The rtsp address is the right one to use for orbitdownloader, and, I suspect, for other download programs. It took me a while to figure that out.

I used orbitdownloader but I think a number of downloaders would probably work. Put in the rtsp URL and ask it to download. The files are quite big. The singles final is about 742 megs, so at my connection speed that took about 6 hours to download. But it was worth it if you ask me. The wmv file plays smoothly, but Windows media player can't fast forward or rewind it. However VLC player can play it and you can rewind or fast forward it to any spot (by using the mouse to drag to the part of the match you want, I guess it isn't real fast-forward or rewind, but it works!).

Good luck with saving it! Now I'm going to go watch the rest of the match. :bounce::drool:;)

I should also give thanks to *Becks* for pointing out on the media forum that the Video on Demand actually existed at all, and making me think about how to download it. I surf using Firefox so I never even knew the VOD existed. So thanks Becks! :wavey:

Then when you start to play each file you can right click and find the address in properties (only in firefox, IE forbids you from doing that). It says mms:// something. This is the address IE and Firefox recognize. But the download programs I tried couldn't access the mms address.

I discovered that if you use an application like orbitdownloader (that's the one I'm using) to download it, then you need to change the URL to begin with rtsp:// otherwise it can't access the socket correctly or something. It took me forever to work that out. It took me about 6 hours to download the singles final- I now have it on my computer and can watch it using VLC player. It will actually play with Windows media player, but then you can't fastforward it.

In other words, the rtsp addresses won't play in IE or Firefox, but are perfect for downloading using orbitdownloader, then playing back with VLC player. I've now succeeded in downloading the singles and doubles finals. :bounce: I'm sure there are other programs that can also download it, but orbitdownloader is the one I'm using. Hope that helps.
