View Full Version : Lindsay's thoughts on the subject of her injury

"I still feel great about my chances," said the 2000 Australian Open champion. "This is not going to dampen my spirits much, and hopefully Sunday night, I'll be ready to go."

This isn't going to kill her chances. I think withdrawing from adidas was just a precaution. I look forward to seeing Linds in the final of Oz. :D

Is the knee ok then. Not knee and shoulder too. However she has won her first round in straight sets.

Good Luck Lindsay:worship:

I'm currently having physio on my knees, perhaps Lindsay should borrow my appointment slots!

In all seriousness, hope Linds is OK! She assured everyone her knees wouldn't trouble her

Having said that, perhaps the scare (where the op took place) is a bit tender because of the heat. I have a scar on my left knee that's been there since 1996 (round the time of atlanta Olympics funnily enough) when I fell and sliced my knee open (had to have 8 stitches!), anyway, as I was saying it generally gets sore under extreme heat. So movement in that area (ie the knee joint) rubbing on the tender skin can become a little sore. If it is a similar problem then it probably wouldn't be so bad if she was wearing shorts instead - because by wearing trousers (sweat pants) means there is more sweat, more sweat leads to greater irritation (because of salt content). Sounds complex, but could be a factor.

I'm sure it's nothing to worry about!

I had an inkling it wasn't her knee (see the posts in General Messages) with what she was pushing on it was actually her thigh that she strained hence why she had it taped up yesterday...

Think of it in a positive nature she got through her first match so she's through to at least the 2nd round *yay* and I remember in 2000 she had her hamstring taped up and look what happened that year ;)

As long as she makes it through to Week 2 I won't be complaining j/k :)

ETA: Even though she was pushing down on her right knee she might have been pushing and trying to stretch her shoulder - so she's got a taped thigh, taped shoulder and strained knee - mighty fine combo :)
