Notes: Vs Mandula: Sluggish start coulnt keep groundioes in court in the 1st set and a half , came back from 5-2 in the TB and kicked ass in the final set :p

I do think it was more a case of Petra loosing than Alicia winning...but never mind! She did well enough to walk away with a victory, so I'm happy :)

Good luck to Alicia and Lleyton...smash Kim! (in the nicest way possible...)

alicia is a good player, mandula has great groundies very powerful. i really do think alicia needs to power-up on her groundies if she wants to compete with the top players because atm they just blow her off the court with power, maybe if she was one of the quicker players on the tour it wouldnt matter as much but alicia isnt all that fast.

i didnt see much of the match bewteen alicia and petra so i cant comment on what happened.

Alicia is a good digger-out of matches.

Hopefully this is a good sign for the rest of the year.

Go Alicia!

I can't wait for the match today...less than an hour!

Let's face it: Alicia's chances of winning are incredibly low, but I want to see how she handles herself after Monday's less-than-perfect form. It'll be a good test for her.

i know im gonna sound like an idiot but im pissed that kim couldnt finish the match coz im 99.999% sure that Alicia would have won that match today she was matching kim in just about every category and i dont think ive ever seen her hit her forehand so cleany. what a comeback 26 down in the TB. Way to go Alicia. Should have no trubz with daniella thinachova

You don't sound like an idiot at all! I agree (although i was only 80% sure, coz Kim's a fighter and it doesn't take her long to take control of a match). I was incredibly disappointed that the girls didn't get to finish it off. Even if Alicia lost, it would still have been a good effort. I hate the feeling of not knowing for sure whether or not Alicia could have done it without Kim's injury.

Alicia's already proven herself against Daniella. Shouldn't be too much of a problem for her.

That match against Clijsters is the best i've ever seen Alicia hit the ball. She was playing great. Im confident about the match again Hantuchova. Good luck Alicia :) :worship:

I was there for that match and it really sucked. It was sad that Kim got injured and it was just anoying because the match was cut off just when it was peaking- it was coming down to the crunch. The atmosphere was dead after the match. Alicia was playing SO WELL though. The whole crowd was really behind her and so proud to see her play such top tennis. Everyone will say 'Alicia only won because Kim withdrew' but those who saw the match know it was bloody close. Very little seperated the girls- if anything.

Which proves that an injury free Alicia could very well break into the (dare I say it?) top 10.

Its soo sad that Alicia is injured just when she was starting to peak. It seems her injurys are always the worst possible timing. (I guess there is never as good time to get injured.) But first it was when she was fresh off her first tittle in her home GS a set up. Then it was after taking a set off Rubin and then a set off Clijsters. I guess this just proves that once she is well she will kick butt. So now we just have to be patient I guess and hope for a quick recovery.
