magdalena:

well, from the physical and techniqual side, shes definitely top-10 material...... but the mental - side is a big weakness she never overcame and never will overcome. in my opinion the next year will depend on her results in australia and early in the season. is shes succesful here and gets sme confidence, she should be able to play a consistent season and re-enter the top-15. when you look back, her rank was just as high at is was because she had one great win with a lot of points. the rest of 2002 for instance was not top-15 either (the most at least). her main goal for 2004 must be to play consistent quarterfinals and one or two highlights with a win for instance on grass, on that surface i expect a lot from magdalena this year. at the slams she underachieved every year and in my opinion she deserves one qf or two, i expect them at melbourne and wimbledon, wimby is most probable. i think when she gets everything together she will win 1-2 tournaments, will be top-15 and reach 1-2 qf at slams..... in doubles she wont compete so much whats a good decision because she often had to play very long and was nearly not able to prepare for a tournament the following week.

sesil:

she will play junior tourneys up to her 15th birthday and will see how it is to play with the pros at indian wells. when shell allowed to play senior events, i expect that she will come in the top-150s.

tvetzi:

i dont think she is allowed to play much in the next weeks, but when she plays she should be good enough to get some ranking points. i expect she will be top-200 at the end of the year.

maria, svetlana:

dont think they will make big success, espacially svetlana is to old in my opinion..... when they sta<y in the middle 250s i will be happy.

dimana:

she has the potential to be in the top-180s perhaps because she had some close losses to players like sucha, she needs more consistency and then she will break the 200, i am sure.

dessi:

she has to train more, i heard shes lazy. she is able to crack the top-200, too...... but i doubt she will do it because she seems a little bit inconsistent.

your thoughts?

Magdalena Maleeva:

Well, I think she'll have a better year than 2003. I'm sure she wants to do well in maybe her last season... Maggie is a person who won't allow to finish her career not on top level.
Ranking at the end of 2004: 11-16

Lubomira Bacheva:
Not sure, but I think the second best Bulgarian at this moment may play her last season, too. Lubomira is playing Australian Open qualies and has already commited to many tournaments after that which shows that she wants to do well!
Ranking at the end of 2004: 120-140

Svetlana Krivencheva:
Don't know what to expect of her... She's always been consistent in her ranking 200-250. Maybe next year won't be something different!
Ranking at the end of 2004: 230-250

Maria Geznenge:
She is a player who has already highlighted her career by reaching GS main draw and I can't imagine she can do that again.
Ranking at the end of 2004: 220-240

Dimana Krastevitch:
I think she can enter Top 200 next year. Dimana is aggressive and knows how to hit the ball hard. If only she has more self-confidence and shows better attitude on court!
Ranking at the end of 2004: 180-200

Dessislava Topalova:
She is an enjoyable to watch player and I expect from her something better in 2004. Plays doubles very well and it will be OK if she finds a permanent partner.
Ranking at the end of 2004: 200-220

Sesil Karatancheva:
I hope she'll play in Miami, it will be great experience for her. I think we may see from her juniors Wimbledon or Roland Garros title.
In the autumn she'll play some WTA tournaments for sure!
Ranking at the end of 2004: 80-120

Tzvetana Pironkova:
My favourite bulgarian player alongside with Maggie and Sesil. She has to prove herself in some $50k and $75k tournaments!!
Ranking at the end of 2004: 150-180

Maria Penkova:
I've always thought that this girl has talent and if she doesn't make good season I'm not sure if she can continue playing. Although I see tennis is something important to her
Ranking at the end of 2004: 250-300

Antoaneta Pandjerova:
I hope she has recovered from the injury she had in the second half of 2003. She must come back in Top 300!
Ranking at the end of 2004: 250-300

Biljana Pavlova:
Three wins over Top 500 players will be good for her. I see her training a lot but reaching Top 500 is still a huge dream for her.
Ranking at the end of 2004: 650-700

Nadejda Vassileva:
She is also training a lot but has to weak and easy shots for today's game... However, she's very cute and enjoyable to watch.
Ranking at the end of 2004: 600-650

Dia Evtimova:
She has talent and I'm sure that step by step she will reach Top 200 in some years.
Ranking at the end of 2004: 450-500

Elena Gancheva, Elena Stoianova and Dessislava Mladenova should prove themselves a lot!

While Sesil is undoubtedly good enough to be in the Top 120, I don't think it will happen next year. She can only play one pro tournament until August, and after that she'll have points to defend.

well, all my posts from the general messages board: :) :) :)

maggie doesn't have so much points to defend till july, so she can be back in top 20, but at the end of the year she'll be outside top 40 IMO. i hope i'm wrong but i don't think she can will another title or reach the final of a big tournament anymore

sesil has only one tournament left till august and then she'll have to defend 83 points, so she can't jump so fast in 2004. but she can reach sf at least at junior french open or wimbledon.

i don't think pironkova will be in top 250. she has a lot to improve and not so much resources to play outside the Balkans. it will be good for bacheva if she stays in top 150 and i would pick dimana as the nice surprise reaching top 150 or even more
