Well, I know they offer limited varitey, What exactly does that mean? Also is the store cheap or what U.S. chain would you compare it to? I want to know cos there is one opening her not too far off in the future.

I've never seen one make it....

Its like a warehouse kind of place and you have to manuever boxes and stuff. You also need to take your own bags if I remember correctly..

Yep, Aldi's is a discount grocery store. We have 2 or 3 of them where I live.

It's cheap, generic, or off brand stuff. Sack your own groceries, etc. You can get a box off the shelf (remove the other stuff in it) and fill it up with your groceries. You can get a lot of food for a little money. I go there when I'm gonna be baking in bulk. Like for flour, sugar, etc. It's hella cheap!

ALDI's okay for buying bulk, like Athenaeum said, but there's so little variety for the weekly shopper, I don't think it's worth the pocket of change you might save. That's been my experience, anyway.

Aldi's is great for those on a limited budget. And the quality of the stuff is surprisingly good. In a regular supermarket, the quality runs in decending order:
Name Brands
Store Brands
Generics

Aldi's stuff is between the Name Brands and Store Brands in quality.

ALDI is very popular in belgium, and cheeper than brand products. It good quality in general, just don't try their coke, it's sucks big time.

When I was a struggling graduate student in Ohio, I LIVED @ Aldi's because of it's cheap prices. The brands didn't taste that bad. The uppity bastard in me only let me purchase my produce from an upscale store, though, so I don't know about Aldi's fresh products.

First I've heard of it. I hate shopping, especially for grocery. Imagine if I had to do it all myself.
