Anyone knows it?

Sydney, Melbourne...

Tokyo?

Paris and Antwerp?

Will she play Qatar and Dubai? or she'll play Acapulco instead?

LuckyStrike

She will not play in Dubai or Quatar. Perhaps she will play in Antwerp, but this is not shure. After a Break she will play in Acapulco

I think Tokyo's next. Elena has to get rolling. Zuluaga was in her section of the draw.

Elena Excuses may still be hot, tired, need to visit her family again this Christmas, prepare herself to play 40 tournaments this year... to play Tokyo.

I'm mocking Miss Dementieva for all the excuses she made after losing to Jankovic.

Thanks, montoyafan11. So, Elena will have a week off before Acapulca. If she thinks she needs to find her match rhythm, I agree with her schedule.

montoyafan11: do you know what's Elena's next tournament is? I just checked on her French website mentioning that it's not sure she will play Indian Wells. However, she will definitely play Miami, AI, and Charleston.

She is working with Olga now, i talked to Olga and Lena`s mother in Paris and they told me that she is her new Coach from now on. Do you know her full Name? I forgot to ask her. But she is travelling with Lena and her mother so i think that she is the full time coach. But Sergey Pashkov is not out of business yet, he still works with her when she is at home in moscow!!!
Next tournament is definately Indian Wells, than Miami,AI and Charleston.

Thanks a lot montoyafan11 for confirming Elena's schedule. Olga full name is 'Olga Morozova'. So, Elena has two coaches. Does Olga also work with Elena in Moscow?

Actually, if you come to the Russian Roulette, you can check on Elena's news at both Elena's forum where you are now reading my post and "Elena Dementieva Fan Club". You will see the thread when you scrool down the Russian Roulette main page. It's not a forum, just a thread, but there are much more posts than here. Let me know if you can find it.

I don`t know if she works with her in moscow, but i will meet her Straßbourg/F or one week later at the German Open in Berlin. I can ask her and tell you !!!
I didn`t know that she is the famous Olga Mozorova, she was an excellent player in the 70`s. We talked only five minutes and she didn`t tell me.
Thank you !!!

Yes, i saw them practising and i must say that Olga was really motivating her, and it seemed that they have a good relation. I also saw Bovina with her her Coach and it is a big difference. Bovina`s Coach, also female and from russia is much more rude and demanding.

Do you know that Elena withdrawed from the Indian Wells tournament? She still has problems with her shoulder and can`t play. She will try to come back in Miami.

Oh! That's bad...is her injury serious? I hope not. :(

By the way, I am glad to know Elena has a good relationship with Olga. "ys" also said Olga is a really passionate supporter. I am glad they work together. I am not sure if you have seen this post. Dokicfan17 posted this yesterday on IW board:

"Dementieva has been heavily training with Olga Morozova(sp)...for almost 2 months...she's been working mainly on a more "consistant power game "and her serve, I heard Olga mentioning that Elena's serve has definitely improved...and that Elena will be a lot more aggressive but with more safety lol.........Cant Wait to see Dementieva play."

It's a good sign of Elena's progress. I hope she will completely recover from the injury soon and come back stronger than ever. :D

I saw her playing doubles vs. Schett/Schnyder in Paris and i can confirm that her service improved. but i also think it shows up when she feels confident on the court. if she has some difficulties in her game, it seems that she makes the same mistakes. but the second service is definately better.

Elena needs to have more confidence on her serve. Did you see her play in Singles? I wonder which match Elena played better. Even though she lost to Golovin, I think she played better in that match. Anyway, it seemed to me she committed lots of DFs. I guess Paris is the first tournament in which Elena began to work with Olga. Her serve should be better now.

I saw all of her matches in Paris, vs. Golovin she played much better than vs. Cohen-Aloro. i was close to a heart attack vs cohen-aloro. this was so close and she had a bit of luck. but after she threw her racket, the audience was not very fair, and they cheered for cohen-aloro and they gave applause when lena had a misshit. it was quite difficult for her, but she made it. i think she was more relaxed in the doubles, so her service was better. she joked around with denise chladkova in the breaks.

Thanks, montoyafan11, for giving me a small report. I really appreciate that.:D

Why did the fans begin to be not very fair after Elena had thrown her racquet? Yeah, I also heard that the audience was not so nice in those matches. But, it's understandable cuz Elena’s opponents were both French.

From your view, why did she lose against Golovin? Because of her serve, unforced errors, or Golovin’s good performance?

the french audience is always a bit different compared to other countries, but if you play in france you have to accept it. she played not that bad vs. golovin but i must say that golovin played excellent, she was very quick and moved a lot on the court. i think she is one of the best newcomers i saw in the last few years. i saw her match before vs. smashnova-pistolesi which is also a quick player and works a lot on the court, but she also ran her tired.

I think playing in front of French crowd boosted Golovin's ego a lot, so she played great in matches against both Anna and Elena. And, players haven't yet figured out how to play against her. Elena always says playing someone she lost to gives her a big motivation to win and play well. I hope they will play against each other again this year. It should be an interesting match.

Long time no see, montoya. :bigwave: I think Elena really needs to win today for the sake of her confidence. tenn_ace goes to see this tournament and gives us reports. Have you read them. If not, here is the part about Elena's practice:

I saw Lena D. practicing today. (finally! :bounce:   :) She was hitting the ball with Lina K. When I arrived to their courts, Lena was practicing a return. She was doing very well. I was impressed. Then she started practicing a serve. The good news: no spin serves - most are flat ones... The bad news: percentage is very low. Her serve motion is slightly different: more fluid. Olga was saying something to her after each serve, but the only thing that I could hear is her saying to Lena not to force it.

After that Lina and Lena played a few games. Lena was hitting quite well off both sides (not as good as Lina though). Her serve percentage dropped even more: about 10% first serve in and quite a few DF's. She also seemed to forget at times about her service motion. All in all, I'm not expecting a whole a lot from Lena in this tournament. I hope I'm wrong. Lina, on the other hand, has impressed me... I know that she has a tougher draw than Lena, but she is hitting some really good ball.
You are right that we shouldn't expect too much from her. But, we should have faith in her. :)

This was pretty good. Today she will beat Sanchez-Lorenzo, and the she should feel confident enough to beat Dokic and Venus. :worship:

It is also good for the ranking, she is one round better than last year, till now!
Is the Tournament completely broadcasted in the us? It`s a shame that our European Sports Channel (Eurosport) doesn`t show it live. They only show some match summary`s in the morning next day when i have to work.

They have better Pay-per-View-Offers in the US. To have something like the Tennis Channel in Europe would be great. Venus is not in her best shape, so Lena can beat her if she avoids too much double faults. Let`s wait and see(Lena`s big win)

Hi! Montoya :bigwave:

Yeah, I am so happy now, but I will be much happier if Elena beats Venus. Yep, Elena made more than 10 DFs again yesterday. But, someone is GM said she made too many DFs because of this this:

Elena really deserves to be winning these matches at the Nasdaq. I saw her training so hard there.

She was doing sprints and all kinds of workouts. She is a really hard worker, and the people who work the hardest really deserve to be winning. I didn't see anybody else working as hard as she was. She was also working on improving her serve and putting a kick to it, which is why she's been making so many double faults and missing a lot of first serves.

I think Elena should rest after Charleston until Berlin. She has hardly NO red clay points to defend, so she should just take time off to work closely with Olga and develop her claycourt game!

Elena needs to rest more often, especially to reduce the chance of an injury!
