I've read some comments in this about how some of you reckon she aint all that great on other surfaces despite the fact she's won the US open, gone undefeated on hard courts in the american summer. So whats the score?

Didn't she win the French Open?

erm yes, but she also won the us open

She's done well on a lot of surfaces. Clay may be her best considering she'll be favored for the French Open over any of the others this year but she still won the US open this year and she's done well in other surfaces too.

Of course she's just a clay court wonder. All she's sone on other surfaces is to win US Open, reach the final of Wimbledon and the semi of Australian Open, not to mention that she has titles on all surfaces. So outside the clay, she's no threat, right?

Of course i think she's a major threat on all surfaces. Not how some ppl see it though.

Hmm, difficult question. I think that she is more a threat for BIGGER titles on clay than on any other surface. Yeah, she did win the Open and Canada....but we all know thatīs because the sisters werenīt there.

Some smart people wanna come with the:"Yeah, but she beat the same players the sisters use to beat. So now these players are lesser player?"-thingies.

YES! When the sisters beat up EVERYBODY than they are lesser to SISTERS. So if you wanna become the new standard-barrier than you have to beat the SISTERS on those surfaces.

It's the only surface she has a chance of defeating the sisters.

She is the best female claycourter and clay is the only? (don't know for sure) where she has beaten the sisters. She is a threat everywhere, she plays good on all surfaces certainly, but defeating the sisters goes (for the moment) I think only on clay and maybe grass. Although she has won the US open, I don't see her capable of beating a healthy Vee or Serena on harcourt, but Justine might prove me wrong in the future.

The truth has been laid bare: Only chance for Justine against a Williams: on clay.

She's the best on clay, that's a proven fact! but i don't think she's an "only clay court player" far from that! She won title on every surface and dominated the summer hardcourt season, so she's a multi-surface player i think

I suppose this question has got nothing to do with whether or not she can beat the Williams sisters on a particular surface. If she were a one court wonder, I would think pretty much everyone else would be a no-court wonder. She's more of an all courter then a single-court wonder.

Hi Miss! Howīs life been?!

See my posts above....she isnīt an one-surface wonder, but she is a BIGGER threat for BIG titles on clay than on other surfaces.

Oh totally. It was a fluke that she got to the finals of Wimbledon, swept the summer hardcourt seasons and won the U.S. Open. It's not her fault. Justine's just lucky like that.

Of course she is not just a clay wonder, but that's the only surface that she is a clear cut favorite to win on at the slams. There are better players by far on the other surfaces.

By far?
Admitting Serena and Venus are better than Justine on some othe surfaces, I don't think they are that much better. I think if the sisters had played the U.S. Open injury free, they would still have struggled beating Justine cuz Justine was playing amazing regardless of the sisters' presense then.

Isnīt this the same people who say that the sisters are only hardcourt wonders?! When they have done MUCH MUCH better than Justine on all surfaces?!

Yes, by far. There were better hardcourt players at the Open without the WS, but they choked.

I don't recall the sisters called only hardcourt wonders.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were called only cement and grass wonders. Anyways, we all know the truth.

Justineīs become very good and all on hardcourts. But thereīs good and there is DOMINATING! The sisters are DOMINATING on hardcourts.

I donīt think the sisters would have had much trouble against Justine, because the sisters donīt go for save and let people dictate. They go for the lines and itīs them who are dictating the play.

Both Kim and Jen were doing this and were winning easily for that stretch, but then they stopped and let Justine dictate play.

Against the sisters Justine would NEVER be in the position to dictate.

when i read things like "if serena would have played the open, she had destroy justine" or something like that i just can say that when the sisters are NOT there, justine can nothing for it and so she took the title. so some of your views are a little bit speculatrive, right? it is just the patroitism of the amercians. sorry, but that is the truth!!!!!

Shes an all rounder - and to say she'll never trouble the williams' on anything but clay is stupid - she took Venus to three sets in the Wimby Final and she's improved alot since then .

NO she's not just a clay court wonder. She has the BEST chance to win against the Williams on clay. but that does not mean she DOES NOT STAND A CHANCE to beat them on any other surface.

And just because it'll be difficult for her to beat them on other surface does not mean that she is not good on the other surfaces.

So what's Kim then? a no surface woman because she can't beat the sisters on any surface???

Nothing....because I said that she is a BIGGER threat on clay for the sisters than on any other surfaces.

On clay the chances are like 60-40 for Justine, but on the other surfaces I say the chances are like 80-20 for the sisters.

Doesnīt mean that she will NEVER beat them or something....you canīt win every match.

If you give her a 20% chance of beating the sisters on other surfaces, then you gotta be kidding thinking the sisters are so much better than Juju. Give her a 5% chance at most if you really mean what you said.

Face it people Justine has not beaten the williams on anything other than clay which means she is better on clay at the moment against the sisters. Just because she won the USO without her main competition present does not mean she is a great hard court player.

I noticed something about Henin-H. As I said before she will do ANYTHING to win, and regardless of what you think of her she just took advantage of the situation. It is possible that she would not have won the USO if the sisters were present, but they were not. Jen is mentally weak, and Kim just chokes in big finals. Those two were her main rivals at the USO this year and they both choked in their matches against her.
So she got the wins.

Is she a clay court specialist? Well I would say against the Williams only, because she has beaten the others on different surfaces.

I might, I might....what do u want me to do?! She hasnīt taken a SINGLE SET off Serena on non-clay surfaces. How can I give her anything higher?!
