I saw her play a qualifying match against Paola Suarez in Delray Beach, Florida at the Virginia Slims of Florida. Paola won that match in three tough matches. I know that Emily Bond was from England

Emily was a very pretty blonde girl who lived in Barcelona like 10-12 years ago when she was in a (unsuccessful) tennis team made by Eric Van Harpen. She turned 30 last month and her best result was beating seeded Jeyaseelan in Wimbledon 96' qualies.

Anyone has any more recent news?

Her ITF profile:

Doesn't tell you a helluva lot though.

Emily Bond was in my unsuccessful tennis team together with Conchita Martinez(from junior to Wimbledon champion and nr 2 WTA)Karin Kschwendt(from junior till 45 WTA)and Noelia Perez(from 1200 till 93 WTA)and I must admit that Emily did not make it,but was the nicest girl ever. She is living in London and has 3 lovely daughters and I will see her next week and give your regards.

And by the way she never lived in Barcelona, but in Leuggern in Switzerland and she was more or less the same age as Conchita who will be 41.
She never made the qualies, but I must give your informations some credit. She was and still is pretty and blond and as I see you too=)

Noelia Pérez Peñate never reached the top 100. Get your facts straight.

Which qualies? If you mean Wimbledon qualies, yes she made them and won a match in Wimbledon 1996. Maybe she had left you already...

First my friend Spiceboy,Emily Bond did not made the qualies, because she got a wildcard, what is not the same as making the qualies, because for that you have to be top 200 or close and she was never close to this ranking, but still a great friend and when you say that she turned 30,but in reality she turned 40,you are not too good informed.
Perhaps you are right that Noelia was not top 100,I do not remember exactly, but she got straight in the main draw of the US Open 1992(lost against Pam Shriver in the first round)that means she cannot have been far away from the top 100 and I do not think there is a huge difference of quality between the number 99 and 101,right?

First, I said her best result was beating Jeyaseelan at Wimbledon qualies. Of course she didn't qualified by ranking, which Brit would have made the qualy draw on her own ranking? Being Top 250 makes you a sure bet for a MDWC so of course she had to rely on a QWC. I supposed anyone would undertand it that way. Obviously you didn't. My fault.

Then, of course I am informed. More than you, it seems. If you had looked carefully you would have seen this thread is 10 years old and when I wrote that message she was indeed 30. Fail again. Keep trying.

Finally, I knew well of that Pérez Peñate MD appearance @ the USO. I was there, actually watching her match vs Shriver. Thanks for the info, anyway :) BTW, Pérez Peñate highest ranking was #123. I thought you might like to know your pupil stats. You are welcome.
