ITF world's champion's are usually annonced during a ceremony at the begining of the french open.

As much as I don't care for Justine, shouldn't she have won this award? She won two Slams and ended the year at number one.

BTW, who won this award last year? Serena?

Cariaoke
Nov 20th, 2003, 02:13 PM
Yes, Serena won this last year.

I think it's weird that no grand slam champion won it...

bandabou
Nov 20th, 2003, 02:39 PM
Hmm....this is just a slight to Justine. NO matter how cool Kimīs stats looked over the year, Justine had the BETTER season. Plain and simple. Thus she should have won the award.

Is the any article about it, any proof?? Just curious!!

Sadly, but I'm not even surprised!! :(

Well, Venus had a better season than Martina in 2000, but Martina won the award, so maybe this organization is being run by people who don't have a clue?

bandabou

You just MAY be right, Liz. Maybe they donīt have a clue...but Venus only played a half-season in ī00. That was a bit TOO, to give her the award.

Nov 20th, 2003, 02:59 PM
They are suppose to award it to the player who performed best at the slams. That was Justine. I don't believe this person is stating the facts correctly.

If this is true, no matter how much I love Kim, it is horribly unfair to Justine. But I think your're :bs: us Bamburach. uh ? :hehehe:

What is an ITF world champion? Is this for the men and women combined? And is there a WTA world champion too?

*clueless*

All a bit slow today? :p
Try to read the italic line backwards or read my previous post.

The ITF world champion has always been the player who ends the year No.1 so why on earth has Kim got it, if indeed she has been awarded it. It should be Justine - her results speak for themselves!

Cappy didn't end #1 in 2001, so that's not the case.

Congrats Kim  for a very good year and staying fair. Results alone dont decide. Fair play is also taken into account. For the Justine Fucktards who are whinning again as usual, take a good hard look at your favourite and tell me, if she deserves it. I dont think so ;)

It is not unfair to justine. What she did at the FO cannot be forgotten. She showed she has no charater. She cheated and lied plain and simple and everyone saw it. She has done it more than once.

Of course, it may just happen, but I guarantee, there wont be any cases of gamesmanship in that year. If there is any, she may win as much as she wants and still get overlooked :p
