Damn, Marie-Ève lost  I called the tournament but they didn't wanna give me the scores. They just told me she had lost. "Look on the Internet, sir". For your information, your website never UPDATES! :fiery: Marie lost, god damn it. I hope it was three sets

The score is similar to the last time they played this year at the Australian Open. Quite franckly it's better if M-E loses in 2 sets than losing 6-4 in the third after leading 4-1.
Got a point there... where are the scores available btw, Venus ?

too bad for Marie-Eve but there was really not much doubt on who was going to win this match especially given Pelletier's form lately.

Hope she can get herself back together, it's been a bit of a disappointing season for her really and she is capable of better.

Yeah, she needs to start doing better. She's already nearly out of the top 200. Toronto surely didn't help, now maybe she feels she just can't win anymore! Keep going Marie and believe in yourself :yeah:

If it's any consolation, Marion has a bete noire in the next round...she's 1-2 against Arvidsson

Yes the loss to Washington in Toronto was really disappointing. She fought back so well and really seemed poised to win that, and then collapsed being just 2 points away from winning.

She has always struggled with nerves and closing out close matches, and I am sure that match didn't help much.

The decision to play on clay in Europe afterwards surprised me, because although she has had the occasional reasonable clay result, her strength has always been on hardcourts.

It seems that her biggest trouble is mentally, because every year that I see her, she seems technically to be a better player. Her groundstrokes have improved in pace, the forehand is more consistent than it used to be, and she seems to be making more effort to close points out at net when the opportunity is there. She is still waiting for that breakthrough effort though, she's knocked on the door a few times but she needs to get it soon before her confidence is down the tubes. :(

playing in europe is a question of $$$. cheeper to play there than in the usa.

Because tournaments are closer to each other, so less transport bills...that'S why it is tougherfor American players to come through on the circuit...

Well I saw the match and MArie-Eve played good....She was there shot for shot with Marion but Marion is too strong on important points....Still, it was better than Mélanie
