i think she is a great person, because she is playing tennis not for the money
she play tennis because she love
she don´t care if she lose 0:6 0:6

at the first time i thought she is a promissing junior
because someone posted a thread with her name and Lucic
but then i checked her profile at the itf and saw she is older then 40yrs
then i asked here on the board if it is a typo
and then they told me about her
and since i´m a fan of her

she should play next year too

and maybe she can face another Bagel-Girl in the future
this would be great for her!!!

Nancy Loeffler is a "player" who cannot beat anyone down at the local club, or most of the posters on this board let alone have a competetive match against any of the girls on the challenger circuit. Hey Matthias don't you ever wonder whose money it is that she is spending so that she can put on this charade of being a professional tennis player? You are so naive it is unbelievable. MOST of the girls who travel on the chally circuit do it for the love of tennis, not for the money, because the chances of success are very low even for REAL tennis players. You don't have to be a 43 year old woman hitting forehands off the back fence to play for the love the game.

nancy is inspirational. She may have some elementary shots, but she plays for the love of the game and that is what matters the most!

What makes you think that she plays for the love of the game, anyway? More likely she plays because she likes to impress people by telling them that she plays on the WTA Tour. If it was really for the love of the game then she could be happy just playing against people at her own level, club players.

She plays for the love of the game coz thats what she's told people who have spoken to her. And it is true, she is serious out there coz she really believes she can eventually get that big win.

So go, Nancy! :bounce:

I only saw very little of Nancy in Toronto, but there is a slight chance she could beat some girls in 10k's. She's obviously going to get killed in WTA Qualifying, and 50k's... unless she's playing another 40+ year old such as Karen Fodera.

Nancy has an old lady serve motion... but she hits it fairly hard, and can get some points with it. If she could just keep her forehand in, she could win someday.

Someone should get Nancy to come over to the UK and play some challengers here. She might get drawn against Yee Wong then at least one of them would get a win to their name !

sure other players play for the love of the game too
but mostly of them have a coach or parents or friedns or agent who keep saying

"you can become top200 if you work hard"

but Nancy know she will never be top200, she know she will never win a match (as long she not draw another bagel-girl)
thats different between her and all this other girls out there on tour

and i have no problem to be called naive, as long i´m not filled with bitterness like you!

Hey Matthias, chill! :) Those guys like vogus have no fucking clue why we are fans of  Nancy  . They just have not the slightest sense of any humor  . And I really admire her guts to do what she does!

Now that Nancy has won a game, I expect her to improve this result to 1:6 1:6 at the next opportunity

Go Nancy :bounce:

My question is....how can someone like Nancy even be allowed to enter any wta qualifying events. I mean don't you have to prove yourself and work your way up to this level? And giving her a position into the qualifying at the Bell Challenge, I'm sure there has to be some good Canadian upcomers out there better than her (I hope...)

yes, Nancy use just the weak draws on WTA-Tour
there are always few tournaments on WTA-Tour and ITF-Tour with weak draws
and so she get points, and with this points she get a ranking and can enter other tournaments

Jeff

Any woman can enter a WTA tournement I think. Nancy has a ranking so she can enter events. You don't have to prove yourself. Like my 80 years old grand-mother could have entered the Tier I Canadian Open qualies because there were bye in the draw.

For the ATP, any man can enter a future or a challenger. For a main event, you must have an ATP ranking.

So is the canadian tennis federation that weak that they don't have any other actual descent players to fill the draw...
