Sorry, but it needed to be said.
Bruce Springsteen is overrated!disposablehero Sep 24th, 2003, 03:44 AM Sorry, but it needed to be said. ys Sep 24th, 2003, 03:56 AM Who is he? GBFH Sep 24th, 2003, 04:06 AM I agree. especially by the *ahem* older generation. i remember a couple years back he performed with the wallflowers at the vma's, and they were booed off the stage. then all of a sudden he's retro  what horseshit. disposablehero Sep 24th, 2003, 04:29 AM Well, this is the thing. I like Springsteen, but this recent supposedly very prestigious poll said he had 2 of the 7 best albums OF ALL TIME. Sorry, but he does not have 1 of the 10 best albums of all time. GBFH Sep 24th, 2003, 04:37 AM pffffffffffffffft  typical. critics saying they like springstein is en vogue...in ten years, someone will say U2 had two of the ten most influential albums of all time. disposablehero Sep 24th, 2003, 04:48 AM Oh, when I said 2 of the top 7, did I mention it was 1st and 7th? GBFH Sep 24th, 2003, 04:55 AM lmao! that's horseshit. don't tell me "born in the u.s.a." was no.1? god...i think my parents have that album...and that's all i need to know to stay away from it. disposablehero Sep 24th, 2003, 05:05 AM No, actually "Born In The USA" was not one of the two albums. "Born To Run" was rated #1. GBFH Sep 24th, 2003, 05:07 AM No, actually "Born In The USA" was not one of the two albums. "Born To Run" was rated #1. ahhhhhhh....haven't ever heard it. i'll make a mental note to say i like it when someone asks in the future. maybe i'll look smarter. disposablehero Sep 24th, 2003, 05:15 AM ahhhhhhh....haven't ever heard it. i'll make a mental note to say i like it when someone asks in the future. maybe i'll look smarter. I can think of exactly one song I know from "Born To Run" (guess what its title is), and exactly none from the other album they mentioned. And my musical tastes range from the early 60's (occasionally late 50's) til now. King Satan Sep 24th, 2003, 07:31 AM well, what do you expect? he's white lol Colin B Sep 24th, 2003, 09:28 AM No, actually "Born In The USA" was not one of the two albums. "Born To Run" was rated #1. Was the other one 'The River'? I liked that one. Born to run was excellent in it's day - a classic rock album. Probably not all time No.1 though. I expect Justin Timberlake, Britney and Beynoncé(sp) would make up the top ten for you guys then? :p Colin B Sep 24th, 2003, 09:35 AM well, what do you expect? he's white lol Aaah, but the powerhouse of the 'E' Street Band, the best sax player ever, Clarence Clemons isn't! Serendy Willick Sep 24th, 2003, 09:55 AM Very boring and overrated. GBFH Sep 24th, 2003, 01:11 PM I expect Justin Timberlake, Britney and Beynoncé(sp) would make up the top ten for you guys then? :p absolutely :yeah: AjdeNate! His newest CD is great. But he isn't in my Top 10 of favourite CD's. decemberlove Sep 24th, 2003, 07:06 PM overrated, underrated, blahblah. i dont really give a fuck either way cos both are based on how others perceive his music and they arent listening to my music for me. know this, the man plays show after show and never seems to run out of energy. 2.5 hours STRAIGHT with a 5 minute break and thats IT. ive seen him several times and brucey STILL shits on all those whiny young "musicians" out there today. he puts so much energy and heart in his performance. oh, and he hangs upside down on the mic stand. hot :lick: King Satan Sep 24th, 2003, 07:19 PM overrated, underrated, blahblah. i dont really give a fuck either way cos both are based on how others perceive his music and they arent listening to my music for me. know this, the man plays show after show and never seems to run out of energy. 2.5 hours STRAIGHT with a 5 minute break and thats IT. ive seen him several times and brucey STILL shits on all those whiny young "musicians" out there today. he puts so much energy and heart in his performance. oh, and he hangs upside down on the mic stand. hot :lick: the only reason he has so much energy is cos he's all tweeked out :p lol decemberlove Sep 24th, 2003, 07:23 PM the only reason he has so much energy is cos he's all tweeked out :p lol ha yeah but eventually you gotta become tired. he plays 5 shows ina row, takes a day off and then does two more kiwifan Sep 24th, 2003, 07:29 PM I have seen the future of rock and roll and its a band called "Handle". They are only a year old; local act here in LA. Saw them at the Viper Room on Friday. They were at the very bottom of a 5 band bill and were sooo good that I left and partied with them instead of hanging around to see the other bands. They are awesome!!! As for Springsteen, I've seen him 2 and a 1/2 times (he played in Atlanta on Superbowl Sunday and I watched the Dallas Cowboys at a diner across the street from the Fox Theatre for most of Springsteen's show; this by the way is the only evidence I have that the Boss is a commie scumbag, "Ghost of Tom Joad" on Superbowl Sunday) He's currently over rated, as he is just as good as he was 15 years ago, but not really bringing anything to the table that he didn't have going on 15 years ago. He is better live than every other "whiny voiced, tatooed, pierced, skinny faux punk" rock act on the charts. But he currently just doesn't have much competition. King Satan Sep 24th, 2003, 07:50 PM Kiwi, you're from LA? look out for my up and coming band. we're called Dirty Mexicans! :music: decemberlove Sep 24th, 2003, 08:02 PM Kiwi, you're from LA? look out for my up and coming band. we're called Dirty Mexicans! :music: oh, you were serious when you said you stole my nickname for you and used it for your band? King Satan Sep 24th, 2003, 08:04 PM oh, you were serious when you said you stole my nickname for you and used it for your band? yes lol :D Chris_Martin's_woman Sep 24th, 2003, 08:38 PM Sorry, but it needed to be said. omg YES!!!!!! I like Springsteen's sound and the vibe you get from his music --- it makes you feel secure and self-assured regardless of your state in life. Lita's Ex Sep 25th, 2003, 04:34 AM Maybe I'm just too young but he totally means nothing to me. But then again maybe it isn't age because I have no problem getting into Zepplin, The Stones, The Doors and Bob Marley. | |
