Well, this is the thing. I like Springsteen, but this recent supposedly very prestigious poll said he had 2 of the 7 best albums OF ALL TIME. Sorry, but he does not have 1 of the 10 best albums of all time.

I can think of exactly one song I know from "Born To Run" (guess what its title is), and exactly none from the other album they mentioned. And my musical tastes range from the early 60's (occasionally late 50's) til now.

Born to run was excellent in it's day - a classic rock album. Probably not all time No.1 though.

I very much like Bruce Springsteen, I have it from my dad. His newest CD is great.
But he isn't in my Top 10 of favourite CD's.

know this, the man plays show after show and never seems to run out of energy. 2.5 hours STRAIGHT with a 5 minute break and thats IT. ive seen him several times and brucey STILL shits on all those whiny young "musicians" out there today. he puts so much energy and heart in his performance. oh, and he hangs upside down on the mic stand. hot :lick:

I have seen the future of rock and roll and its a band called "Handle".

They are only a year old; local act here in LA. Saw them at the Viper Room on Friday. They were at the very bottom of a 5 band bill and were sooo good that I left and partied with them instead of hanging around to see the other bands. They are awesome!!!

As for Springsteen, I've seen him 2 and a 1/2 times (he played in Atlanta on Superbowl Sunday and I watched the Dallas Cowboys at a diner across the street from the Fox Theatre for most of Springsteen's show; this by the way is the only evidence I have that the Boss is a commie scumbag, "Ghost of Tom Joad" on Superbowl Sunday)

He's currently over rated, as he is just as good as he was 15 years ago, but not really bringing anything to the table that he didn't have going on 15 years ago.

He is better live than every other "whiny voiced, tatooed, pierced, skinny faux punk" rock act on the charts.

But he currently just doesn't have much competition.

omg YES!!!!!! I have felt this since the day I was born!! It was so irratating when I walked into the Hard Rock Cafe in Cleveland and they have a huge section on him and it is bigger than U2's.......blah!!:retard::rolleyes:

i think the appeal in bruce's music is that he is a storyteller, moreso than just a regular musician. his recent really touched a lot of people in the nyc area...

I like Springsteen's sound and the vibe you get from his music --- it makes you feel secure and self-assured regardless of your state in life.

Maybe I'm just too young but he totally means nothing to me. But then again maybe it isn't age because I have no problem getting into Zepplin, The Stones, The Doors and Bob Marley.
