...can I play...?

www.geocities.com/chiararidolfi2000/

...it's not really as good as yours...you're quite good...it's just a little snippet of a tune I made...I don't have a proper webhosting thingumy...yet...and the full track won't fit on geocities...

...btw...how come with geocities you can't post a direct link to the download... ...it's really annoying...

:)

...I use two programs (...Steinberg Cubasis and FL Studio...) but I'm not sure I'd really recommend them...I think you want this...

http://www.cakewalk.com/Products/HomeStudio/default.asp

...assuming you're using a PC...no Mac version...it does nearly everything Sonar (...Pro version...) does...and it's cheap here...probably cheaper there...

...they do a program for guitarists too, but it's more simple (...they assume guitarists are stupid and won't know how to use a proper program...)...

...the only thing wrong with HS is it doesn't support VST plug-ins, but you can get a wrapper...plug-ins are extra bits of software that you can,er, plug in...effects and synths/drum machines etc...Cakewalk have their own standard (dXi) but VSTs are far more popular...there are tons around...lots of free ones... :)

...there's also ProTools Free...no WinXP version, though...ProTools is what all the big studios/bands use...Free is a cut-down version...8 tracks...doesn't support VSTs either, don't think you can get a wrapper unless you're using Mac OS9...but it is free...

...you should also get a good soundcard...NOT an Audigy  ...preferably with ASIO...lower latency...don't get me started on latency...

...hth... :)

did someone mention something about Sanata?? I think he is a great guitarist, the only problem is the people that he does songs with, like Rob Thomas, Michelle Branch, etc, are not very great, but he is great!!:worship:

Get an M-Audio Audiophile 2496. Those Creative Soundcards have lousy converters no matter how much they claim that they can do 24 bit 96kHz. You probably wont notice it if you're just recording one or two tracks, but if you pile up a mix of over 4 tracks its so noticeble that these gaming cards sound cold and flat. Audiophiles have the best converters for the price and they have pretty good driver support.

King Satan: Thats pretty mean playing right there. Try to get one of those recording programs Willow suggersted, I'd recommend anything from Cakewalk, its easy to use and has lots of features, however that means you will have to put some cash into a good fast PC and some outboard gear like a mixer and a decent mic like a Shure SM57.

Its just a suggestion, but I warn you... when it comes to spending on recording gear once you start its really hard to stop. That said, good luck with your music. :)
