christian is hot... but batman?

i heard darren aronofsky was doing a new batman with someone else [cant remember who] and they scraped it cos it was too dark. personally, i think that wouldve been the best route. cos the batmans lately are too poppish and childish

And what's wrong with that? Anyway, that was from Reigh of Fire, he was meant to be like that.

decemberlove, I never heard about Darren Aranofsky. I cannot imagine him doing a Batman movie. Probably for the best. But you're right about the latest Batmans, I hope it gets more serious.

Christian Bale has been cast in the starring role of Bruce Wayne in Warner Bros. Pictures' upcoming Batman movie, to be directed by Christopher Nolan and produced by Emma Thomas. The announcement was made today by Jeff Robinov, President of production for Warner Bros. Pictures.

Principal photography on the film is expected to begin in early 2004. The movie is written by David Goyer and Nolan, and will follow the early career of The Dark Knight.

Said Nolan, "What I see in Christian is the ultimate embodiment of Bruce Wayne. He has exactly the balance of darkness and light that we were looking for."

Robinov stated, "Now that we've found the best person to play Batman, we are really looking forward to moving ahead with the rest of our casting, and are excited about the exceptional group we are assembling."

Bale, who first drew critical attention for his starring role in Empire of the Sun, has starred in such diverse motion pictures as Little Women, Portrait of a Lady, Metroland, American Psycho and Laurel Canyon.

Tim Burton is doing Big Fish now, I don't know what's up to next... But yeah he was good.

should be a good movie, i liked nolan's stuff (memento (which was the best movie of the year i thought) and insomnia) and it can't get any worse than batman and robin (the one with george clooney, defiently worse batman ever)

i HATED memento. prolly one of the only ones, but still.

insomnia could never keep my attention long enough.

but batman and robin was most def the worst. george clooney is SO not batman... he doesnt have the chin

Yawn.

Still better than whoever's idea it was for Nic Cage to play Superman. Thankfully, that never came to fruition.

You know....if the Superman curse truly exists...I'd volunteer Ben Affleck and J.Lo to play Clark Kent and Lois Lane.

I honestly thought Ben Affleck was going to take the role.

disposablehero, lol :) If they cast him as BM, J.Lo would fight tooth and nail to play as Batman's next "elusive", "sexy" and extremely "dangerous" new love interest

i absolutely agree. burton: YES! schumacher: NO!
i'm sure aronofsky would have come up with something cool.

Who really wants to see another Batmanmovie? Personnally, I'm bored to death with all those comic hero screen versions. It seems today Hollywood is not capable anymore of doing something else. Spiderman, X-man, Daredevil, Superman, Batman,... and countless sequels, all simple variations on good vs. evil. And the bad thing is that some respected directors who gained recognition with personal, interesting movies earlier are now selling out. It's really sad that Bryan Singer who made "The Usual Suspects" is now responsible for laughable shit like "X-Man". And now there's is Christopher Nolan making a quick, easy buck...
