How much money shall we bet that Evie loses to Nakamura? Well, if she wins that match I'm guessing she will lose to Tian Tian Sun.
Prove me wrong Evie :)

How disappointing for Evie. I don't understand what is going on with her. Look at how well she played against Venus at the FO, then she is losing qualifiers at a lower ranked tournament. She obviously has the ability to win, so is it just that she is mentally fragile?

At least she doesn't have many points to defend in the next tournies . . lets hope she finds her game before the Oz season starts
GOOD LUCK NICOLE IN MAIN DRAW !!!! :worship:

Well, I recall seeing Evie play Vera at Wimbledon. where she lost 6-0 6-2. It really seemed like that day she played way too tentatively. Vera very much has a clay court game and I think Evie could have exploited a lot better Vera's reluctance to come to net.
On occasion, Evie hit some powerful serves. She should have come in behind them to put pressure on Vera. Instead, she just stayed back and rallied. The rallies usually ended either with a winner from vera or a forced error from Evie, who would eventually be forced out of position. She played her best when she was 6-0 5-0 down. Finally she hit some aggressive shots and seemed more free. Thing is, once she got her 2 games, she reverted back to passive tennis.

Well there is some good news from this tournament.
Nicole is playing doubles with Emilie Loit and they are thru to the semis, where they will play Tammy & Wynne.
Even more heartening is Trudi Musgrave has also made it thru to the semis. Would love to see her win and earn a few extra bucks.

Musgrave gets another shot at Vento/Widjaja!
Musgrave/McShea led Vento/Widjaja 5-1 in the 3rd set, in their 3rd round match at US Open before choking to a tiebreaker loss!
I hope for Trudi's sake she can win this, would be great for her confidence.
As for Pratty, she was playing against Evie, she was always gonna romp it in!
