They have the crowd behind and generally playing on their best surface. Would be great a Russian victory.

And Lina K., if she was healthy all last year, would have been in.
Next year, we should see 10 Russians in the main draw. These 7, plus both Mashas, and maybe Vera D., or Anna K.

I left out Dinara. See, you lose to Widjaja, you get forgotten. Life's that simple.
And I hope Lena L. and T.P. are here next year to show the kids how it's done.

It's about time for the Russian gals to make this a tournament that other players are not looking forward to.
And I'd like to see the fans come out and watch it.

On carpet, the best hope IMO is Nadya and Lena B! Alonya, even if she is on a roll will do ok but not more then that I think..

I hope Lena B. is healthy enough to play. Her last match was three weeks ago. Same for Vera Z.
I think Nastya will play well.

The advancement of Team Russia in the past year is amazing.
The next year should be even better.
These ladies deserve a big homefield advantage. And this is the week for it.

There are 8 Russians in the main draw. Alyona, Nastya, Nadya, Vera Z., Sveta, Lina, Lena B., and Lena L.
Two are getting WC's - Dinara and Vera D.

And the top 16 year olds are in Japan, Marias S & K.
So now it's just a waiting game to see if any Russians get through the qualies.
