This is what she said during her press interview after she lost the final round of qualifying:

"It's been a great journey these past couple of years, but to be honest i have lost interest in the game that i love so much since i was a baby. I just did not feel the way i felt about tennis anymore. I was going to wuit earlier this year, but i thought hey maybe i can try few more tournaments. But my results are pretty bad and i know i am a better player than that.I hope i can do well in doubles with Sabine, hopefully it will be a sweet victory for us. I might be back, who knows. I would like to say thank you for all the tour directors that can make this happen, to all my friends on the tour, and to all the fans. Thanks for the great memories"

It is such a shame whenever a player leaves the tour. Riana has been a staple of the FWTT since the very beginning. Tiffani first met Riana during the first Fed Cup tie of Belgium vs. Asia. Riana defeated Tiffani to give Asia the win. They played many times in both singles and doubles since. Tiffani wishes her the best of luck and will hope that she may sometime return to the game.

I think you should play one more tournament at Bali where your hometown so, it's would be nice to finish at your hometown but it's up to you, of course :p

Riana, it seems to me that your career has been up and down like this. Perhaps this year is just one big slump that would improve by next season. I really do wish that you would stick it out until the end of the year. Look at what happened to Regla in 2001, she wanted to quit but decided to finish the year and ended up winning the Chase Championships. I really think you should just give it a bit more time. I'd really miss having you on the tour.
