Well despite having one of the lowest player counts in the main draw, you better stand up and recognise the aussie assualt at the US open!!

both Alicia molik and Nicole pratt have had fabulous wins over seeds (martinez and farina elia) to cap off great years

next alicia has - suarez
and nicole has - sugiyama

GO AUSSIE GO!!!

Well at the moment we have a 100% strike rate, because as you say these were the only two Aussies in the main draw.

Hopefully they can both progress thru the next round.

I think the Alicia is just rocking this year. Got to
watch the Hopman Cup live this year, and she
was really doing great stuff. Good to see her keep
some of the fire and form to the last GS.

Good luck!!

fact is alicias backhand is very attackable,a nd suarez exploited it before nailing her forehands to steam-roll her in 3rd set.

good effort from alicia tho

Too bad Alicia has lost her third round match last night as well as Nic Pratt and her partner, Paul have lost in their mixed doubles match.

But our Woody and his partner, Likhovtseva has won in two sets. :)

Hopefully, Nic will win tonight. But Ai is a tough one for her.

Go Nic!!!! :bounce:

Unfortunately alicia wasnt returning real well today and had too many errors, especially in the third

an amzing year for this girl who started the year around 90th sport in ranking and will climb to around 35-40 after the US

succesful hopman cup
won her first title
made 2 consecutive other finals losing both in 3
3rd round wimbledon and us

WELL DONE ALICIA!!!!

AND GO NICOLE TONIGHT!!!!

I Praise Punch, am Entertained by Evie, Relish Rachel, See a future for Sam, and am Optimisic about Olivia. So I'm certainly "Oz friendly". But after what Nicole publicly said endorsing the way Anna is marketed like a piece of meat, I have absolutely no respect for Pathetic Pratt. :(

our future looks bright for atleast two girls nehow!!! :hearts: Agreed. But besides Punch, it's Sam and/or a junior like Olivia. (I'd call Pratt a has been, except she never really "was"). So don't devalue a rising force on the tour like Punch by even "linking her" with that failure, please. :(

jolly nicole is not in decline. if you have seen her play lately ( i saw her at fed cup) she has been playing her best tennis in AGES. She beat her nemesis Conchita Martinez a few weeks ago making the quarters of a tier1, and now narrowly lost in the 3rd rd at the us open.

no australian made it further than nicole at the US Open and she made the 4th rd at this years aussie open. THANKS
