Hey guys! Am I the only reggae-loving poster here? I've seen threads about most types of music but I'm yet to see a reggae thread celebrating the roots reggae artists like the
incomparable(?) B. Marley, Ijahman (His "Are we a warrior" is out of this world), Gregory Issacs, Maxi Priest .........
And there's the reggae/ ragga acts like Shaggy, Beenie man....
And the UB 40 type too.....
Just love them all.
Any favorites, anyone?

I don't like reggae in general, but I love Postmen! That's a Dutch reggae group and they rule!

Hey I'm relieved. Thought I was a loner here. Jomar, believe me, I'm more surprised than you that we have something in common. Wonder if there'll be anymore?
Kisha, nice to know you're from Jamaica. Which do you prefer, B.Marley or Beenie man?
And adnil, I've not heard of the postmen yet, but have you tried UB40? You may just like how they drink their Red Red Wine.

Jimmy Cliff, Janet Kay's "Silly Games", but the king of reggae has to be the late great Bob Marley.
Didn't Gregory Issacs do "Night Nurse"? I like reggae. Erroll Dunkley's "OK Fred" was good at the time. :)

Sure Double Fault.
Gregory Issacs released "Night Nurse". "Objection Overuled" was great too. And yes, I guess Bob Marley's middle name was reggae. Peter Tosh's death was so tragic!
ps. should I read into "okay fred" ?

I love Bob Marley no one can touch him when it comes to Reggae! Peter Tosh was good but he always had the burden of living up to Bob. Anyway as far as UB40 I can't get down with that kind of music only the true Reggae sound for me.:)
I do LOVE Dawn Penn's "No no no, You don't love me". Anyway if your ever in Disney WOrld in Orlando, go to the City Walk, Universal Studios. They have one of the BEST ever Reggae clubs. In fact it's called Bob Marley's and it themed after him. You'll find pictures, memorbilia and "LIVE MUSIC":) I will be going back there soon.. lol:)
JAH have mercy on me:) Also Rastafarian is a beautiful religion imho.

Thanx Dawn Marie. I'll definitely visit the club. Will be going down in summer. With UB40, I know what you talking about. Theirs is more like fun reggae, as opposed to the roots. You know, like their song " Rat in the Kitchen"
Glad you like reggae too.
