And the open looses another star- at this rate the only matchup worth seing will be the final!

well done maria though but chanda hadn't played in weeks and was very rusty- this is turning out to be the organisers slam from hell!
Lets hope lindsay does well but i wouldn't rule out another surprise there..

Chanda didn't look like she was in form/shape even at the Arthur Ashe Kid's Day Exo...

Aug 25th, 2003, 05:58 PM
well if chanda had taken her time off to work extremely hard on her CARDIO and fitness then she could have beaten Vento-kabchi by playing solid retrieving style tennis. Instead of going for winners and making like 50 ERRORS!!! Not a smart match!

Chanda played TERRIBLE. Maria did nothing but get the ball back.

Chanda normally hit the error after the second shot. It was painful to watch. Just error after error.

is it really that surprising i didn't think she's played that much recently because of tendonitis

Aug 25th, 2003, 08:08 PM
well she could have gone for safer shots. she was hitting too hard and out of position and just ugly. I am so upset and sad. She is too smart for that kind of tennis but I think she is worried about her rotator cuff and the sadness of knowing that the field is more open than usual but that her chances still sucked.

Good Job for Maria holding her own but she didn't do anything spectacular. This was one of the toughest matches for me 2 watch because I love both players. a win is a win and I am happy for Maria sad for Chanda

you think a match is only worth seeing when "stars" are involved?

Aug 25th, 2003, 08:46 PM
OMG Chanda!!

She really had a good chance to mess things up here IMO.

Aug 25th, 2003, 08:56 PM
COngrats, Marķa, nice to see you beating top players again

Aug 25th, 2003, 09:08 PM
