View Full Version : Damn! Who the hell can I root for now?

If my faves had been further on in their careers and preparing to transition into their non tennis lives, then I would have begun to ween myself, somewhat, of the presence of VENUS & SERENA and even begun to look for another active fave to root for, but I still would always be a Williams Tennis Association member for life though.

I have been to spoiled with my two fabulous faves and now, with this latest U.S. Open catastrophe, I am forced to be without them and just try and enjoy, to some extent, the play of the other competitors.

Perhaps, I will watch more of the mens competition, which will essentially be the Andy Roddick show, because I initially was a huge fan of mens tennis befor the age of the Fabulous Sisters.

I kind of wish that Anna K. had her game really together so that she could make a big run at the title and even play one of the Belgies in the final, but, alas, the Rocket threw her back out of wack with her favorite extrcurricular activity with her many athlete/entertainer partners.

But, one good thing, now I can spend more time working on my own fabulous tennis game or even begin to learn Windows 2003 with the TV time that I would use watching V&S play or the certain to be low rated womens finals.

Not any worthwhile suggestions so far.
I guess I'll just watch some of my old Grand slam tapes with a WILLIAMS in the final (not 2003 RG).

If you want to choose an young American player ?..........their is no much follow up!.........your country better adopt a few Russians before your country face the same problem as England on Wimbledon.

The Williams Sisters want play long.......because they can't accept a lose.

I can not really back a Rooskie because we were at (cold) war with them for so long that a lot of us still see them as the enemy. Sad isn't it? :)

However, they do make nice vodka.

I have an idea...why don't you go build a SHRINE for all the fanatics to visit after the sisters have retired?? YOU are also the perfect administrator for it. (heck, you were born to live each day worshipping the sisters) And later, after you are gone, the children of the these fanatics will make you a SAINT!!!

But PLEASE do not build it in the Conejo Valley. Thanks.

Tee, there's a "player" not listed in the draw that might suffice: Ms. Well Played Tennis. (And that not a potshot @ the W/S, who produce plenty, it's just that YOU are the one with the sig. about tennis being a game, right)? ;)

Unfortunately, the same 2nd serve as AK, as well.

I know Janie, but the off-season will hopefully provide Elena with a 2nd serve to die for ;)

Her 1st serve is very good, why that 2nd serve is so....'wispy' I cannot explain!

But Elena will improve, I'm sure of it!!

Consider Kim!

Actually, take Kim, add a generous dose of aggressiveness and mental toughness, improve the serve, and you get a Williams. Boy, that would mean a lock on the #1! No, we can't have that, can we? ;)

fnac - I work in Calabasas and have been on projects in Thousand Oaks.
There used to be a mental hospital in Camarillo, but the budget got cut and they let them all lose in Thousand Oaks, in the Conejo area.

Americans and Rooskies still have missels that can be retargeted towards oneanother in 15 minutes, so I can not support a former Red. :) LOL

Ann K. is, in fact, a conditional American.
She has, probably, even forgotten how to even speak the language of her homeland.

Also, I could never actually root for the rude and criminal Scicilian American, despite the pressure that I could get from her "family" ties.

At this point, I would appreciate seeing my old friend, Chucky, back in action. :)

Oh well, no one to root for, I guess.

Don't bother watching the US Open at all. Just sit in your bedroom with the curtains closed and mumble to yourself "Life in not fair! Life is not fair".
don't bother to answer, you're on my Ignore list.

Tia - I am in Cali. I will do some tennis, beach swims, skating, martial arts workouts, bikini inspections , and some weight work as options for watching most of the matches.

Life is very fair. :p

so in fact you are glad venus and serena are not playing since now you can work on yourself!

will you send them a thank you card?;)

Alexandra Stevenson and Chanda Rubin of course! They both have the "same" qualities as the Williams.....

TeeRexx
Aug 23rd, 2003, 08:36 PM
irma - No, I won't send a thank you card to V&S
because I usually workout or read the computer books during matches anyway.

I save the bikini inspections for after the match.

Teerex, you're histrionics often have me laughing. I actually live in Westlake Village and its one of the safest places in Ca, as you are aware of, or maybe not, because, though part of 1,000 Oaks, it was a closed-off community when the event you talk about took place. So, nice try, but wrong again. :p

Some here talk of banning you, or any other such thing. I don't agree, feel any community needs a village fool, and, give ya that, you're the best. :worship:

TeeRexx

fnac - Funny, some here want their freedom to speak their minds but have no room for opposing thoughts or people.

If or when I am banned because of the whimpering of cry babies, I will not give a god damn.

My life will go on as will everyone elses.

Irvne was officially the safest place in america and people, including cops were getting wacked.

So you better lock your doors at all times because those former mental patients are still around and maybe in your safe, closed area. :p

Tee, I praised the wit of that troll you did a few days ago. But now you conveniently ignore the discrepancy I noted between your own longtime signature, and treating tennis as some kind of Williams led jihad, NOT a game. Will the real TeeRexx please stand up?

Why not Maria S. ? She's got spirit ;)

You should also post some time at MTF. I think the men's side of things is more exciting right now anywayl.

She for Angela Haynes and Shenay Perry! New black players on the block! (Since Jamea and Shadisha didn't qualify)

Don't cheer for Sharapova.. She's got nothing to be a 3rd Williams sister

Ok, ok, I may consider a Rooskie or 2.
But it won't be easy.
