Finished the match. No heart -- not much professionalism either in my book. Can anyone ever really see her winning a Grand Slam singles title? I just can't picture it.

You can't play tennis with an upset stomach. With all that movement, you can have an accident...

I don't work when I have food poisoning... I don't expect Pro athletes to do it either.

I can't really see someone winning a GS if they push themselves with food poisoning less than 72 hours before a GS starts.

I think you are being a tad harsh on Amelie. I'm sure that the US Open was weighing in her mind and she decided to stop, maybe more as a preventative measure. I do think she could have finished, but with the wide open draw of the Open, who can really blame her? By the way, Jen won that match fair and square. Jen was playing awesome and would have wrapped it up in straight sets.

I dont expect her to finish playing when shes in pain a few days before a Grand Slam. But i agree that she probbaly wont win a Grand Slam title either, unless she mentally improves.

i think she will but i agree if you are going to blow chunks and right before the U.S. open you better get out of there!
