Well, at the USO this year Andy Roddick will be the toast of the tournament. He has won two straight masters series titles and gained the #1 position.

I hate to say it, but I think this is gonna give men's tennis a surge and the women will be left behind at the USO. You have Roger Federer, Juan Carlos, Agassi, Mardy Fish is starting to play well, Moya, among other players on the ATP.

Now while I've always been a strong believer that the women outshine the men, with no Serena, Monica, Lindsay half injured, Mauresmo out, Kournikova almost retired, Venus trying to recover the good days of 1999 are gone.

The new girls cannot challenge Kim or Justine at the moment at all. So I think we will see alot of easy matches for them til the finals. Hopefully a good match will come then, but don't hold your breath.

TNT is covering the USO, so get ready for ANDY TV!!! I guess he will just have to do.

USA network is covering the US Open, along with CBS. USA seems to like the women. They had balanced coverage last year.

Venus, Jenn and the men.

BTW, I saw my first commercial for the US Open today. TNT, I guess, given where it was on the 'dial'. The only two players in it were Agassi and Venus. And Venus got twice as much screen time.

I think if you have favorite American tennis players you should be fine (male or female). I expect Roddick to have many night matches.
I think any network other than ESPN will be much better

I'm just glad that ESPN doesn't have the US Open, I thought USA did a good job of covering matches last year. Will someone please, please fire Patrick McEnroe! God I can't stand him and hope to that some how he doesn't make his way onto the USA network. Because of Patrick McEnroe I now hate Andy Roddick more than ever.

I have a feeling that Roddick will not win the US Open (although he's considered a favorite). And I really hope Brad Gilbert DOES NOT commentate... he's kind of a vile creature... very disrespectful to other players... I'm rooting for Federer, Guga, Younnes, and Keifer...

as long as USA network as tracy austin, we will have women on tv;) she's been vocal in the telecasts when certain womens matches arent on big show courts. although she does talk a lot during the play though:(

I have a feeling Andy Will lose very early...I mean...winning a TMS (twice in two weeks) and a Slam almost the following week...on the men's tour is VERY hard...hell I would not even expect Serena to do it.

Roddick is an annoying fuckwad. I hope that his airtime can be easily avoided. :retard:

Rafter did it.
Rafter was more talented than Roddick is :) But that doesn't mean that Roddick won't do it. I doubt that Roddick will lose early.

Bad news, Yukon. 3 guesses who CBS is moving to match coverage to replace Carillo?

You know what? USA is doing TV coverage, and they do an amazing job. They show ALL the top players...not just Americans.

We'll see a lot of Kim-Justine-Lindsay-Venus...as well as Federer-Roddick-Agassi ect.

Mauresmo out

Since when?

Or do you mean she won't get any coverage because she's come out?

Roddick only gained the number 1 position in the Champions Race. He is number 4 in the entry ranking and will be seeded accordingly.

I was just going to say that starr, *growl*.

I saw a USO ad on USA and they showed Serena... normally they use old match footage but it looked like they filmed Serena on location just for the USA ad. She was wearing this white visor, white babydoll tee and a black skort. She hit an overhead and laughed at the end of the commercial. They showed everybody else like Andy, Pete, Dre, Venus, etc. but they used old match footage.

I thought it was interesting that they spotlighted Serena like that and she's not even playing. :tape:
