Capriati?

She hasn't beaten a higher ranked player in over a year, how is she going to win the Us Open?

Capriati?

She hasn't beaten a higher ranked player in over a year, how is she going to win the Us Open?

She has only beaten one top 10 player this year :o Chanda Rubin..and I think her record against top 10 this year is 1-8..

All due respect to Jen cause she is an amazing player, but she is definatly a long shot..

I don't think Jennifer is a long shot. With Serena out and the sea of injuires - who knows what a good draw and some luck can do. Jennifer has a lot of experience and has 3 slams. She tends to do her best in Slams, so I would never count her out or call her a long shot.

Wow, some shocking picks by Pam....NOT!! It has always been Williams vs Belgian at the slams, so there´s nothing new there. Capriati?! Pluuuzzzz! All the girls know that they just have to make sure of winning a set against her and they will win in three.

Pam REALLY taking some risk with her predictions there!

This is tennis and anything can happen anytime. If Jenn has the right draw and her opponents are off, then she can beat them. I think if she is in Justine's quarter, she has the best chance to getting through. And then she'll need to meet Lindsay, and then Venus in the final. But then again, she's also possibly injured. I guess we'll have a better view this week when she plays at the pilot pen.

I guess I'll have to say that I agree with Pam's picks.  But I think it'll come down to Kim or Venus.

If Jenn has the right draw and her opponents are off, then she can beat them.

Hey, speaking of 'what are people smoking'…what is this? Some of that stuff is supposed to give you insights.

If Jenn has the right belief in herself and her opponents are laser sharp, then she can beat them.

If Venus is healthy or atleast 70-75% she steam rolls them all!

Interesting sidenote,
Venus has only been beaten 4 times at the USO
and only one of the three players is even competing,
Lindsay.

Justine or Venus is gonna take this. The way Justine is playing since the clay court season began has been OMG! Venus has proven us many many many times before that she does not need a lot of matches under her belt going into a major. She definitly can win this. She managed to beat Kim when she was injured at Wimbledon, she can do it again here. Capriati? NO COMMENT! Davenport? When was the last time she won a title again? Febuary? 1 title and she's number 4 in the world? wat the?? And Kim....she is the only one besides Venus and Justine who can take it. But she is by no means the favorite....I'll put her as a darkhorse. People lets admit it, those three: Kim, Justine, or Venus will take this. This is the least unpredictable grand slam of the year. My predictions: Justine takes this over Kim and becomes number 1 by end of the year if Serena does not come back.

Apart from Justine, Jen is the most recent player to win a slam in that list. Kim has never won one and Venus hasn't won one in two years!!!!

Conchita has also won a Slam more recently than Kim, but I would feel more comfortable putting my money on the world #1 despite that.

The ironic part is that by virtue of her seeding, Lindsay has an ironclad guarantee of an easier draw than Jen.

She probably thinks Hingis will win. Realistically, I think she would go for Henin or Venus.

Isn't The Chris Of Death classified now? I certainly have heard or read anything all year. My hunch is she would pick Henin. She can't very well pick Kim after the Roland Garros debacle of 2 years ago.
