Dokic just won her match 6-2, 6-4 against M. Shaughnessy.
Seems to be finding better form of late.
With her finding it, and Lindsay a step slower - can Dokic do it against her?

What do you all think?

Go Lindsay, I don't think Jelena can cause her fits, even when Jelena was at her best, she couldn't do anything.

Not if all she does is hit the ball up and down the court like a drone! If she moves Lindsay around she should be able to get the job done, and of course she must be consistant.

lol. Jelena is in a holding pattern. She plays one good match, then one terrible match. However, even when she was playing Davenport coming back from her injury (Stanford I believe), Lindsay cleaned Jelena's clock in straights. My conclusion: Jelena's bad match combined w/ Lindsay's mental edge=6-2; 6-1 win for Linds.

Jelena CAN win, but not this year. She is way too erratic. If/when she gets her game into good shape she can definitely do it, but not any time this year I don't think...

Right now, Lindsay and Jelena's games are VERY far apart.
even if lindsay is not the lindsay of old, jelena just doesn't have it in her this year to pull out the upset.

Not likely on a hardcourt.

Maybe on clay.

I don't think it's likely. Jelena's already had the one good match per tournament that she's allowed.

Isn't it ironic that the one match where Jelena ever didn't just completely roll over for Lindsay is the one that made her quit Australia?

Of course Jelena could beat Davenport, but I don't see it happening. Especially at New Haven. That's one of Lindsay's main stomping grounds even though Venus won the last four years.

jelena has won 1 of 15 sets, and that was when she was still good. so the answer is no.

considering this is Davenport's BEST surface...and maybe her BEST time of year...and Dokic is playing at her worst, I don't see Dokic beating Davenport.

If Dokic is on, it could go three...but she'd have to serve really well

i think dokic can get a set, but she cant play top ten tennis for a whole match these days...altho i could be proved wrong

I would like her to but I dont think that she can do it. I think it will be 6-4 6-2 Lindsay.
