I think Anna still wants and believes that she can be a successful tennis player.
She needs a coach like Brad Gilbert and she needs to listen to and properly executethe directives that he gives her.

And cut back on the singers.
And hockey players.
And cabana boys. :)

Or maybe, anna will just fade away. :)

Anna is INJURED. If she CAN play, she WOULD. Last summer she had great results. Give the girl a break, she's a hardworker and she has a lot of talent, but it's hard to have a tennis career if in the last 5 years you've been injured most of the time.

SR - Get a grip
For you info, I voted that Anna will get that coach and rediscover her game.

"Anna is INJURED. If she CAN play, she WOULD. Last summer she had great results"

If Anna had "great results" last summer then the standards for "great" have been dramatically reduced! Based on your post "Great results" have reached everything must go liquidation levels.

I think she'll call it quits   but she will still keep making more money than most of the top tennis players.

Some of you are forgetting one important thing: Anna is bigger then tennis. She's an icon. A LEGEND.

Anna wasn't injured when she was blown out of the US Open by Angie Widjaja last summer, selesrules. Maybe beating Anna Smashnova in California counts to you as a "great" result, but to most observers, to find any result approaching "great" on Anna's resume, you have to look a few years farther back than last summer. Lipton 98, Wimbledon 97, now THOSE qualify as great results.

I don't think Anna will be back to play singles tennis except in exhibitions and suchlike. Her nerves are shot for bigtime tennis, and too many younger and more eager players have passed her by. But her fans can look forward to seeing her play in such events as Arthur Ashe Kids' Day at the Open this year, maybe some doubles in WTA events, etc. I can't see her disappearing from the tennis scene entirely any time soon.

The polls are favoring her new career with the cabana boys. :)

your dear Kournikova is a small time celeb without her tennis. Anna is insignifigant compared to tennis as a whole. Without tennis she's not a legend. She's a phantom, an imaginary persona who doesn't exist.

an X's and O's coach like Brad Gilbert can't help Anna. She needs a MOTIVATOR like Agassi's Gil Reyes.

The cabana boys are still leading. :)
If Arnold can run for governor then Anna will make just as good a gov in FL.
She is more understandable than Arnold and much, much better to watch when she gives the state of the state addresses. :)
