TheBoiledEgg

Kim or Justine are not On the Gold Exempt 1-3 status so dont count

Venus is one of the top 3

the thing is its not the current rankings what the criteria is.
its the Gold Exempt List which is made after the previous years US Open.

Sharapova is playing Tokyo, because she's with IMG, or some garbage like that.

Luckily, Quebec points don't come off before Moscow... so Lena won't have to qualify. :p

My money is on the Russians, maybe they'll learn how to use the crowds like the Americans do at the Open.

so Elena L should have a WC, the other two can then
go to Maria and Vera IMO:)

Good point.
I don't think it is something that they'll ever completely get over
but get through. I'd think they'd only play if it were for nothing else that to get away for a while and trying to take their minds off of all that has happened, which will be very hard to do.

Whatever, Venus and Serena should decide

well, perhaps some top players will take over for a Williams or Lindsay, but the draw at the Tier 1 in Tokyo was a little lite on high ranked players, so maybe Moscow will suffer this year without making a strong effort to persuade an already tournament weary Belgian or a Capriati half way around the world.

Where is Anca Barna? Looks like she was removed from the qualifying list... Hmmm I thought for sure she would be anxious to get back out there this weekend, after the fiasco in Germany. I don't see her on the Tokyo list either, where she would have been seeded. I wonder what happened!

If a Russian doesn't win Moscow this year, then we have no hope.
