Just a note.

I live about 40 miles from Flushing Meadow. It has rain like anti-Hell all spring and summer. I would anticipate rain delays during the US Open. A LOT of rain delays. Players will be almost certainly be playing 2 matches some days. To give you an idea, the farmer's almanac said my area would have 12 rain-free days this summer. They're wrong in that we haven't gotten up to twelve yet. Still have a few weeks though.

For those of you in other countries, New Haven is about 2 hours north of New York City. The two locales get much the same weather. If there are rain delays in New Haven, likely the US Open will follow suit.

I checked weather.com yesterday and its supposed to be beautiful right up until Saturday night...so we'll be OK for the qualies at least.

US Open weather has been remarkably consistent over the past decade or so. First few days are sunny and hot. Rain comes in near the end of the first week. Then the season changes and it becomes chilly and windy around the middle of the second week. The amount of rain that fell at the Open last year was very unusual and hopefully not about to be repeated. Given the miserable summer we've had in the Northeast, I'd like to think Mother Nature has "gotten it out of her system" by now!
