Yes, but the same thing also happened to all the russian players for a few weeks
as the asian players get better and better (which they are) we can only expect this to
happen more often.
Im going for Tian-Tian ... Saori blew her chance at wimby!

There were 17 qualifying spots and less than 6% chance for Tian-Tian to get Saori, and she did.

Anyway, there are always more Russians than Asians in the draw so the chances for a Russian to play another Russian is greater.

I'm hoping Saori wins since Tian-Tian's already got a decent amount of points from qualifying. I also think Saori has a better chance against Weingartner or Mikaelian in the 2nd rd since she's beaten them both before. But I agree, she's a big time choker.

Wasting 3 match points and a huge lead against Bovina was just disgusting, not to forget the set point she had in the 1st set.

Did you watch the match on TV?

Btw Cho/Stosur d. Talaja/Koulikovskaya 6-2 6-3 :)

Tammy was focusing much on her physical, not much practicing on tennis court. She was training in gym and lost her weight more than 3 kgs. That is the reason why she looks fitter than before and I think she is moving better than before. Actually Tammy hit the ball flat, backhand is her best shot, she's also improved to add more power on her forehand as well. :hearts:

Today Tammy played so well. Good anticipation and good concentration the whole match. Tammy attacked Patty's BH well to force Patty making UE. Patty did not play her best, she made too many UE. :hearts:

Tammy is looking forward to play Daniela H. in the next round. She lost to Daniela H. 7-6,6-2 in Australia this year.

C'mon Tammy, keep it up

Shinobu lost, 6-4 6-1 to Mary  She played well in the first set but then Pierce just turned it on and was just too good after that.
Just watched Tammy's match, she played so well again and she is so sweet and funny, especially when she thought she won  Did anyone see Angie in the front row supporting her. That was real sweet :)

Yes I saw Angie in the front row supporting Tammy. I also saw Tammy's new trainer, Alexandar Law (spelling not sure) who has short blond hair in the front row too. I think most of Asian players are supporting each others. Especially Tammy, Angie, Wynne and Janet Lee are being together all the time (even shopping). They were sharing room in this year Wimbledon and they are supporting each other when they are playing matches. It's great to know that they have a good relationship.

Talking about Tammy new trainer, Alexandar Law (spelling not sure):
Tammy said Alexandar Law (a Australian nation, who has short blond hair and sitting in the front row during Tammy vs Dani match) was a former great champion athlete of World Games. She used to train Ai Sugiyama before. Tammy is working with her on physical fitness training and nutrition program. That is the reason why she looks more firm and fit than before, she lost her wieght more than 3 kgs and she is moving better on court. :hearts:

Does anybody know more about Alexandar Law (spelling not sure) ? Please :worship: I think may be Danker know.

:worship:  :worship:

*sigh* poor Daniella. I was hoping she'd take out Tamarine in straight sets...but, oh well...

anyway, congrats to Ai! Finally, she's broken through to the round of 16 at Flushing Meadows :)

But I have a feeling she won't go much further. Schiavone pratically destroyed her two years ago in Rome (6-4, 6-0), and on top of that, she's had a strong hardcourt season as well (hence the sudden jump in rankings and being put into the seeding system). But, I hope Ai played better than she did against Nicole. The first set was terrible!!!

I hope Ai can make it.
Nicole is a type of the player Ai doesn't really like to play against...
(slow-pace...)
I guess Francesca is a hard-hitter?? (from what I saw of the match against Shinobu at Wimbledon...)
Ai needs to cut down the numbers of UEs tomorrow for sure!, and she'll be no problem advancing to QF possibly against Jen (Ai played Jen at QF of AO 2000).

Go Ai!!!

By 4 rounds, face Schiavone of an ambush, and be status bottoms, but be defeated by Italian opening in 01, and be the partners who cannot be relieved, and but be containing a little over 8, and show confidence, and a Japanese ace shows the best brightness in a meeting in this season last 4 very much when "thinks until now with a chance, and Sugiyama did it wham-bam and is easy to challenge it from this place and is substantial". Go, Ai against Francesca!!!! :bounce:

Since Francesca's condition was good exactly,
I think that Ai was saved thanks to rain a while ago.
I will think that Ai can win, if it can start like today. :yeah:

This schedule is too hard!

Though I have remembered that it was able to change at the next day with the rule of WTA
when the number of games per day exceeds 3, is it possible also at GS?

And I am imagining freely whether Kim abandons its rights to doubles.

This isn't fair! Why should Ai have to play three seperate matches and have less practice time than Jenn? And not to mention that'll she'll be dead tired if she reaches the QF. I mean, I think we have to agree that Jenn's playing great tennis and Ai will have to pull every weapon and advantage she has if she wants to even hope she can beat Jenn.

Anyway, good luck Ai!!! I just hope you don't face any serious strains or possibly injuries from this crappy schedule! :bounce:

Whoops! I just realized that Ai isn't playing doubles and lost her singles. Well, at least I got the "Ai's gonna choke and end up losing" bit right
