I found these cute pics of this dynamic duo on the Qatar website. I really miss these 2 great Champions. They both had amazing careers and I won't forget them, even though they have been gone for nearly a year now. :)

ASV: Hey Sandrine, take a looky at my hair. I feel like Pocahontas or Cleopatra!

Sandrine: But my hair is longer, and curlier than yours.

ASV: Nah, uh. MY hair is longer. See, if I face this way, it gets longer than yours!

Sandrine: We both used our Panteen Pro-V, so we both gave great hair. We are SO elegant!

Sandrine was a player with steel and guts. I never saw her balk at a challenge, and you know, I felt she was one of the main threats to the Williams', for that very reason! She was no slam contender, but she could beat anybody on her day and play incredible tennis.

She had character and resolve so rare in today's generation. It's a shame she didn't reach the higher echelons five years earlier, 'cos she's still only be 26!

As for Aranxta...

That great lady needs no introduction. It's an excuse, 'cos there isn't enough room.

Sandrine was one of those players that always fought and would pull out some tough, yet very exciting wins against the top players!!

She was very underrated, but was a very talented player with an awesome kick 2nd serve! :)

As for ASV, she was my fave. Her personality and achievements will never be forgotten. After Monica's stabbing, Arantxa added some much needed life into the tour!!

Vamos Arantxa! ;)

I can't get over the pics I posted, they are so gosh darn cute. Both were concidered vetrans, and played the game each over a decade. They appear to get along great in these pics; friends. Were they?

I miss Arantxa so much, but I don't miss her 2002 form. As much as I love her, I couldn't stand another year of her losing against pretty much everybody.
It would be great if she returned to play doubles though!

I miss Sandrine a lot.

But those pics it looks like both of them have went to heaven  It's looking creepy like kinda.. they've died or something :o

I miss Arantxa a great deal. Tennis isn't the same for me anymore.

I don't really miss Sandrine however, I do respect her but she was never one of my favourite players.

Bumping this for the great of all ASV Fans. ;) :worship:

Sep 4th, 2003, 09:35 PM
I miss her too

We will no longer have to miss Sandrine, because she is planning on coming back! :worship:

Wow. It would be exciting if more vetrans like Huber would come back! (wishful thinking I know) Speaking of Oldies but Goodies and their comebacks, has anyone heard of Dragomir's plans? I believe at one point she was on the commitment list for the Open, ranked about 111 with her injury rank. Is she gone? And Montolio, she is trying to trick us? Kruger is out? Habsudova? Ahhhh! :)

as i said in another thread...Sandrine is prolly coming back to play dubs with Arantxa to prepare ASV for her comeback to the olympics

Sep 28th, 2003, 02:27 AM
triple yay

its an interesting question if Sandrine would be well established in the current top 10. She took more top scalps and the bottom end of the top 10 is somewhat flimsier.

wow, Titanic in the desert and without the boat. Who would be Jack and who would be Rose?

Anyway I miss Sandrine, but as for Asv............

Thanks for the pics burnof :)

I miss both Arantxa and Sandrine. They brought a lot of excitement and talent to the tour and I hope that they enjoy their life-after-tennis, although I heard that Sandrine's considering a return to tour.

But those pics it looks like both of them have went to heaven  It's looking creepy like kinda.. they've died or something :o

I guess Sandrine must be reincarnated then cause she's playing in Toulouse.

I miss them a lot... I thought they were the players to beat for rookies along with Conchita. Nowadays it's easier for younger players to have good result from time to time.
I miss Natalie Tauziat, Julie HD, DV Roost for that reason.
I guess less depth from #8 to #15 than ever.

Sep 29th, 2003, 01:38 AM
well, i expect ASV will return if hte olympic bid is still accurate. She's smart enough to play warmup tournaments. So, she and sandrine can play dubs together

Sep 29th, 2003, 03:07 AM
i miss ASV cuz i just love her, and sandrine for her stunning upsets of the newly crowned #1's!hope she and her daughter are well.
