Justine doesn't play at September???ns_Henin Aug 14th, 2003, 12:30 AM I just visited www.justine-henin.net and i saw her schedule. i think it's kinda weird because after US Open, she'll plays in Zurich and Linz  . Why Justine skip the september?? Any news?? Hingiswinsthis Aug 14th, 2003, 05:38 AM I dunno but it sure does look Justine will take a vacation after the US Open;) if u look at her schedule from the past years, Justine usually plays 3 warm-up tournaments before the US Open and 3-4 Indoor Events before The World Championships. This year, she's played two before the US Open and looks like she'll skip Filderstadt this year and play only two before LA. Give her some slack, she's a married woman and a grand slam champ hehe;) she needs some rest:) per4ever Aug 14th, 2003, 06:41 AM great scheduling..she won't burn out :) The Crow Aug 14th, 2003, 09:11 AM Have to agree with K. From all the topplayers (top 10), Justine seems to have the smartest schedule. pigam Aug 14th, 2003, 10:50 AM Yeah I think so too! Did you see her match against Kim last year in LA ? :o ... she was just so tired!! She's been very smart with her shedule all year, thas kinda was the base for her succes uptill now if you ask me! Go Justine :D !! Hingiswinsthis Aug 14th, 2003, 06:55 PM yea I watch that match and Kim (who had injuries and came back that fall) look so much fresher than Justine and JuJu was not at all herself.........but atleast she worked hard in the winter and now the results are pouring in;) Martian KC Aug 15th, 2003, 04:05 PM Well, you'll need that kind of rest after winning the US Open.;) ns_Henin Aug 23rd, 2003, 01:53 AM Just saw Justine's name at Leipzig commitment list  ns_Henin Aug 23rd, 2003, 01:57 AM And I think Justine will play Leipzig and Filderstadt according to www.justine-henin.net :D Good Luck Justine :hearts:  :hearts:  :hearts: Hingiswinsthis Aug 23rd, 2003, 07:41 AM good way to rack up some more titles;) Brαm Aug 28th, 2003, 12:39 PM So she'll play Zurich, Linz, Filderstadt & Leipzig? surfinggirl Sep 15th, 2003, 01:09 PM Today Justine annouced to play less because of her back injury. She'll definitely play Filderstadt, Zurch and the Masters. Maybe Leipzig, but no word of Linz. And also no fed cup finals for Justine. She wants to be fit for next year! greg² Sep 15th, 2003, 01:35 PM the site says: fed-cup: definitely NOT Leipzig: perhaps, first some examinations to be sure! Filderstadt, Zurich: definitely Linz: ??? Cookie Sep 15th, 2003, 04:34 PM the site says: fed-cup: definitely NOT Leipzig: perhaps, first some examinations to be sure! Filderstadt, Zurich: definitely Linz: ??? I found an article which says she'll play 3 of 4 tournaments, following Leipzig. So I think Linz is still possible, probably depending on her back injury. justine&coria Sep 15th, 2003, 05:13 PM No this year, she said she'll play 3 or 4 tournaments. If she plays Leipzig, it makes 4 tournaments : Leipzig, Filderstadt, Zurich, LA. So she won't play Linz, and probably not Leipzig Cookie Sep 15th, 2003, 07:13 PM No this year, she said she'll play 3 or 4 tournaments. If she plays Leipzig, it makes 4 tournaments : Leipzig, Filderstadt, Zurich, LA. So she won't play Linz, and probably not Zurich Zurich seemed pretty certain... The article (for what it's worth) also said 3-4 tournaments, 'after' Leipzig... Hingiswinsthis Sep 16th, 2003, 12:03 AM I think Justine should skip Leipzig as she doens't have significant points to defend anyways, and give her back an extra week of rest. She should come back at Zurich:) REST UP JUJU! Rtael Sep 16th, 2003, 01:19 AM it's definitely important she plays Zurich, as the last Tier I of the season.....especially with not playing Moscow. However I hope to see Justine playing as much as possible to get more money, more titles, and the #1 ranking! Not at the expense of ehr health, however. fleemke³ Sep 16th, 2003, 09:35 AM Well I also hope Justine will take that number 1 sport this year but her health is even more important :) she's in good hands and they will do what's best for her :) Just win everything you play  We don't tolarate any loss  we are used to see you win now ;) j/k just do your best :) per4ever Sep 16th, 2003, 09:38 AM may be she should play Moscow and Zurich before the Masters. She could win 5 tier I's then  ns_Henin Sep 16th, 2003, 11:21 AM Justine please skip Leipzig :fiery: Take more rest and stay healthy!!!   Martian KC Sep 16th, 2003, 12:08 PM I agree skip Leipzig, stay healthy for the rest of the year. Cookie Sep 16th, 2003, 03:29 PM According to the webmaster from the official site, she definitely won't play Linz. Too bad, but her health comes first; it's gonna be tough to get the nr1 place this year... Martian KC Sep 16th, 2003, 05:48 PM Thanks for the official news, Cookie! Hingiswinsthis Sep 17th, 2003, 02:29 AM she's not too far behind even if she skips Leipzig(in which she should) and Linz....Kim has done as much as she can to earn her self points and now she will gain little from now on. Zurich is VERY important to Justine if she wants to end up year-end #1. Zurich and another tour title and doing good in Los Angeles will clinch it for JuJu:) Hingiswinsthis Sep 17th, 2003, 02:31 AM and for god sake's.........to save the face of the WTA tour, everyone should be pulling for Justine to pass miss slamless Clijsters in the rankings :bounce: JuJu's haters know it, but Justine has to end the year #1 to save the WTA, just like Serena did last year.........keep it up JuJu:D! cynicole Sep 17th, 2003, 02:58 AM she's not too far behind even if she skips Leipzig(in which she should) and Linz....Kim has done as much as she can to earn her self points and now she will gain little from now on. On the other hand, who is there to prevent Kim from gaining more points? Justine has her back problem. Wx2 have their respective injuries plus family tragedy to deal with. Davenport is out. Mauresmo seems low in confidence and Capriati hasn't exactly been a fall indoor season warrior, often losing to the same person over and over again (Testud, Stevenson). Then again, that also means that there aren't as many quality points floating around. Plus Kim needs BIG results to move up. Her 18th tourney is like 200 points while the tail end of points in Justine's ranking are in the 100-130 points. Then there's the tour championships...which will probably decide everything. Rtael Sep 17th, 2003, 05:22 AM Maggie Maleeva will stop Kim C. at all the indoor tournies ;) justine&coria Sep 17th, 2003, 09:31 AM Zurich seemed pretty certain... The article (for what it's worth) also said 3-4 tournaments, 'after' Leipzig... Sorry, I meant Justine's more likely to skip Leipzig (not Zurich)! I've edited my post. fleemke³ Sep 17th, 2003, 10:27 AM Kim will always loose points in LA. Last year she got bonuspoints from Serena (nr 1) and Venus (nr 2) and she can't get those anymore because she is number 1 :) greg² Sep 17th, 2003, 11:33 AM Kim will always loose points in LA. Last year she got bonuspoints from Serena (nr 1) and Venus (nr 2) and she can't get those anymore because she is number 1 :) yes idd! If she wants to beat Justine (nr 2) it will be in the final! But if Justine plays the final it's most likely she already leapfrogged Clijsters in the ranking! Justine  We can only hope that Justine wins Zurich  Martian KC Sep 17th, 2003, 05:32 PM Hoping for the best, Justine!!! Lady Sep 17th, 2003, 06:50 PM I believe Justine knows what's doing... So if she plays Leipzig that would mean that she feels fit enough. If not we'll wait 'til Filderstadt I think Justine want to become #1 this year, cos she's really close right now... We don't know if she win any slams next year... And being so close this year she'll try to be the year-end #1... But if her back won't let her play at her best, I think she won't play... So she surely knows better what's good fer her :D Dizzy Miss Lizzy Sep 18th, 2003, 11:07 AM According to the webmaster from the official site, she definitely won't play Linz. Too bad, but her health comes first; it's gonna be tough to get the nr1 place this year... I was planning to go to Linz, so this is a disappointement. | |
