:fiery: :fiery: :fiery: :fiery: again you?????? will you stop jumping ships all the time. and yes we all know Jelena sucks this year, even her fans know that, and Jelena knows it as well. and losing to Svetlana isn't so bad, especially most recently where she's been winning quite a lot. oh and with you and your funny thing of placing Jelena were you think she should be in the rankings, i think you should check the race points, because if i'm not mistaken, Jelena is inside the top 25 players on that list, so Jelena is a top 25 player, and you will get your wish and yes she will drop the next two weeks, but then she has nothing to defend and she's bound to get better, and next year she literally has nothing to defend

AHAHAHA Jumping ships huh? I used to like dokic yeah and now i dont and..... its not your problem. :fiery: While you people are crying cause kutznetsova waxed jelena ass off the court, im happy and laughing HAHA :)! I dont care what her ranking is??? She doesn't deserve to be in the top 50 with her results. Its only because she plays 30+ tournaments.

Uh, helllo, coaching anyone? Jeca's been on a (not so) merry-go-round. Sveta is the star client of ASV's brother Emilio @ Sanhez-Casals in Barcelona. ;)

While it is true she was number 25 on the race to chase at the start of this tournament, she had also played more tournaments then anyone in the top 25. If you look at the average points she has won per tournament, she isn't even in the Top 35.

Now she will be lucky to be top 30 in the Race and more then likely out of the top 40 in point averages.

A Top 50 player is a fair description of her at this time.

Top 50 is a bit extreme. As she has been playing for the past 8-10 months, she is about equivalant to a 25-30 ranked player.

I have always known she is overrated. She may be in a small slump but I dun think it's such a serious one. Her one dimensional game doesn't work as well as it used to as the rest of the players are now totally used to it and come up with good game plans against her. So I won't be surprised if her "slump" continues till the end of the year and her ranking drops outa the top 30. Like disposablehero said, she's too good a player to be ranked around 50 is an overstatement but she definitely rightly belongs to somewhere between 20 and 30.

shes not that one dimensional......I mean she has been coming up to net a lot this year...serving and volleying....but her baseline game has dropped.she doesnt hit the ball as clean as she used to....I think shell wake up at the Open

Uh, not being able to do both in a match WOULD be a problem I guess! (Somebody send that girl some Serena tapes by FedEx)!

Jelena certainly has had a shitty year, but losing to Kuznetsova is not terrible by any means

Everybody loses a match here an there. Now her slump is imho stemming from her lack of a coach and her game. It still needs some added elements. Or added elements during the entire match.

Oh shes been coming to net alot huh? like 1 or 2 times out of the whole match. Top 50 imho isn't too extreme, i mean shes lost to losers like rittner, sprem, and about 20 other ones. Whats her record like 17-21. Thats horrible, top 50 player have better records than that!!

not a huge fan of jelena but give her a break. this has been a shitty year for her, but i think people are expecting far too much from a girl who has had the unenviable task of diszoning her father, who although insane, was still a huge part of her life up until a year ago.

i give jelena a lot of credit for sticky to her guns and for only going off the rails in terms of her tennis. thhings could be much worse.

btw don't pay attention to jbone. he/she is a massive damir lover, although he/she tries to deny it with some lame arguments about how good he was to her.

jelena will be back and these deserters will either come crawling back or at least proved wrong.

I'm actually surprised Dokic lost this match, she beat Kuznetsova in 2 sets at Miami, but I guess Kuznetsova is playing better now and has more experiece.

Dokic has made countless QFs this year and that is why she is top 25 in the race, but one of the major reasons for making so many QF was that she kept getting first round byes so really only had ot win one match at some tournaments to get there. To defend those QF results will be tough as she will no longer have byes.

I actually thought that post US Open last year she didn't do that much but I had a look and she has a fair bit to defend, semis at Tokyo and Bahia, QF in Linz an the QF in lA which she doesn't have the opportunity to defend, but I geuss she will play Philadelphia.

Oh well Im not a dokic fan but i hope she starts playing better soon as it makes tennis more interesting, on talent alone she is certaintly top 10 and whoever denies that is clearly biased.

Yeah, once again, she loses to a player that's been playing exceptionally well lately. But yeah, she lost so that's all that matters.

actually, i think jelena is starting to show a lot more form now than what we saw from her earlier in the season...i mean, with tough 3-set losses to chanda and sveta (both good players), she's not playing that bad really...atleast she's not being wiped off the court.

Jelena fans, ignore the fair weather fans! If they only support her when she wins then they really ain't fans anyway!

I'm disappointed she lost, but I was almost expecting it! Kuznetsova has been playing very well and I knew it would be tough!

I'm actually pleased she took a set off her and appears (with this match and the Chanda one before it) to be fighting a bit more again!

Good luck next week Jelena!

The score isn't scary as something like 1-6 0-6, how can you say she didn't fight for it, get yourself together Jelena.:)
