I hope he can, because the media coverage the WTA Tour gets is miniscule compared to the ATP Tour. :( The WTA's television coverage is almost non existent. And the WTA tournament websites are generally uniformative and dissapointing.

Back in the mid 1990's I thought the WTA Tour was on the upswing and it's increasing popularity would result in an increase in television coverage. But it didn't happen.

This week there is the traditional WTA hard court tournament in Los Angeles, the second largest city in America. But finding information and reports on the matches is almost impossible. And it's so frustrating! :fiery: Can Larry Scott, the new WTA Tour CEO lead the WTA into the media bigtime? I hope so. And I think he can because his background is with the ATP Tour. And say what you want about the ATP Tour. But the ATP Tour has tremendous media coverage. And I would gladly settle for the WTA Tour being able to televise 3/4 of the tournaments that the ATP Tour does. That would be a great improvement. :D

I just came back from the LA tournament website and the last news update they have is from July 31, 2003. And that is just awful! I wish someone in the WTA Tour hierarchy would do something to improve the media coverage for the fans of women's tennis.
