As the archives (and Eggy) can confirm, I've predicted big things for this kid for awhile now. So Vikki, Very best of luck to yooo - but did you have to beat my Baby Blue?

Hopefully she doesn't get nervous. She should beat Alex.

She turns 15 on the 19th.

She's part of a sort of junior "odd couple" (I think. Maybe Eggy can confirm it). Vikki being an ethnic Russian playing for Ukraine, and Maria Kirilenko the opposite on both counts.

Victoria (The Kinks)

Long ago, life was clean
Sex was bad, and obscene
And the rich, were so mean
Stately homes, for the lords
Croquet lawns, village greens
Victoria was my Queen
Victoria, Victoria, Victoria

I was born, lucky me
In a land, that I love
Though I am poor, I am free
When I grow, I shall fight
For this land, I shall die
Let her sun, never set
Victoria, Victoria, Victoria
Victoria, Victoria, Victoria

Land of hope, and gloria
Land of my Victoria
Land of hope and gloria
Land of my Victoria
Victoria,
Victoria, Victoria, Victoria

Canada, to India
Australia, to Cornwall
Singapore, to Hong Kong
From the west, to the east
From the rich, to the poor
Victoria, loved them all
Victoria, Victoria, Victoria,
Victoria, Victoria, Victoria

I wasn't complaining, just noting the irony. ;) In fact just for fun, I usually call Maria "Kirilenkova" as she plays for Russia. Of course Bally only left there for England @ age 7. They're all OVA the world now!

Lina said that she felt ill during the match.

I watched the whole match. Lina was feeling poorly and called for the trainer once. It looked like heat exhaustion. It was very hot during their match - not humid, just hot. They were both doing a lot of running and hitting the ball very hard. Plus, Viktoriya grunts/screams as loud as Sharapova. That's got to take a lot of energy! Vik. was also feeling the effects of the heat. She was really huffing, puffing, and stalling after some of the longer points. She was warned once for taking too much time between points.

just got up here
I'm just lost for words :( :(

Lina
try to get more details later on
don't think its too serious but still disappointing she wasn't at her best.

thanx Shooter :)

congrats Vika, her grunts are louder than Maria's

Vika's always huffing ...... she's quite a competitor.
Looks like her illness and shoulder/rib problems behind her from Wimbledon.

I thought Tatiana was French. If she was Russian she would be Tatiana Golovina or something "ova" ;)
