Woohoo she got thru the first round beating Sanchez Lorenzo. Seems as if Nicole has finally turned the corner. I think winning that Fed Cup tie seems to have boosted her confidence and she is at least managing to get thru the first round of tournaments. Hopefully she will start climbing the rankings soon.

What is even more promising is I just looked on Nicole's website and noticed that on the previous 2 occasions that Nicole and Maria played earlier this year that Maria won both.

well done nicole :D

she really was in a slump before the fed cup and now its great to see her coming out of that.

Yes I knew she would Maria here :)

Unfortunately she has Eleni next so it looks like it *may* be curtains, but anyway it's very encouraging to see her winning some matches again (and I totally expected nothing less from the lass this US summer!)

Pratt is a hardcourt specialist, its her best surface. Im not surprised by her suddenly winning as soon as the season moved from grass to hardcourt.

All Nicole has left to defend this year I believe is QF points from Tokyo (Tier 2).

Speaking of Nicole's website, has it been updated at all? I haven't checked it in a while...

Also, azza...you managed to horribly mis-spell Eleni's surname TWICE in the same sentence.

Nicoles not bad at getting revenge against opponents she's lost to before. Daniilidou, S-Lorenzo, Fusai, Serna come to mind.

Lets hope she's avenges the Fed Cup Martinez loss. However I don't fancy her ability to hit head high balls that well.

It's nice for her find a resergence. She definitely works hard enough and it's great that it's starting to pay off again.
