Is there ANY female canadian player that has a shot to make it big, like top 50? Are there any good canadian players right now in junior? Any canadian players climbing the wta rankings?

We have great tournaments here, there are many clubs to practice all year long, it's a shame that nobody has broken through!

What's so surprising? Would another country be less surprising?

I just didn't expect to find such a large supply of 'Serena' brand Haterade in what's practically her own back yard :spit:

Next thing you're gonna tell me you're from TO :drink:

I thought you were American :o

Anyway to answer your question, I don't think right now we have anyone who is looking like top 50 talent. Ko, Zoricic, Wozniak, and Dubois are top 100 junior players and have had some success, but I think Wozniak is perhaps the best of them though Ko has occasionally shown flashes too. I'd be more than pleased to see them even make top 100 though.

Going younger than that, the name Sharon Fichman comes to mind, she won the U12 Orange Bowl singles in very convincing fashion, but at such a young age it is far too soon to know just how far she can go, but certainly a promising start for now. :)
