Well let her say that! Does she really has to step on court saying: "well I'm gonna let my butt kicked but hey that's live?" Of course she has to believe in her chances otherwise she'd better stop playing tennis!

Justine--I'll send you a tape of your Wimbledon 2003 defeat at the hands of Serena----just to keep you grounded. You need to take some of the pressure from your big head and lower it to your chest area.

Fleem, Justine's not saying "I'm believing in my chances", she's saying "Serena can't handle it that I believe in my chances". This is not about her feeling comfortable, it's about attacking Serena.

There is nothing wrong with having the confidence to believe you can win against players who are higher ranked than you or have winning records against you, but did she have to go as far as saying that Serena fears player her? Please, Serena has six Grand Slam titles, including from all four Grand Slam tournaments and 23 titles. Justine only has one Grand Slam title and 15 titles. She has a long way to go to even be in Serena's league. Or Venus' for that matter.

Well if you hear the stories of Justine being belittled by Venus and Serena of court ... well than is it possible that they are embarrased of losing to her.

Well I think Serena had a very hard time after Roland Garros or doesn't everybody remeber the interview with Serena? Oh yes it was ONLY the public that made her cry

I suppose you're talking about me. Yes, I admit, I've had it with Justine. She and Kim used to be my favourites, it's just Kim from now on. At least you can't accuse me of double standards. I'm fed up with Justine's comments for the same reasons I didn't like the Williams sisters. I don't like arrogance.

Maybe she realized that I.Wells wasn't going to be an isolated incident.

Maybe she had dreams of winning the Grand Slam this year.

I doubt it had anything to do w/losing to a smaller player. Hingis beat her, and she was smaller and weaker.

Maybe her feelings were hurt that a player would "lie and fabricate";use such unsportsmanlike actions.

I think Justine needs to keep a low profile. It's great that she pulled up a win on HC, especilally against Kim who had a clear advantage on her. This will give her a great deal of confidence, but it doesn't make her an automatic hard court punisher.

I don't think she needs to go out there and bow to other players and expect to be beaten, but I don't think she should be bragging about it, because her downfall could be harsh and she could have to eat her words. She should keep going and bringing it to the court instead of saying things like this. What she said is not too bad, but I think she should just keep a low profile.

"Serena doesn't feel comfortable that I think I can beat her," Henin-Hardenne said. "

English is not Justine's 1st language, so I'd be careful about parsing her words in English too closely. That said, what on earth is wrong with her saying that?

"Serena doesn't feel comfortable that I think I can beat her."

Well, duh!

What,she's gonna say?

"Serena is totally comfy with the idea that I think I can beat her. She said before in the lockerroom that she was having trouble sleeping, and now that she knows I think I can beat her, she sleeps much more soundly."

Oh. Yeah. THAT makes a lot of sense.

Look at the head to head

There's no way Serena walks on the court against Justine and assumes she can just phone it in.

They've played on clay four times and Serena has won once. Were i justine, I'd have figured Serena thought that I thought I could beat her LAST year, cause I did.

First off, I think Jusine's meaning got lost in the translation a bit, her's or an interpreter.

Second, so what? They've played 8 times, Serena leads 5-3, and neither of them has ever beat the other 3 times in row. Serena does all the winning on carpet, hard courts and grass (limited as all that is). Justine does most of the wining on clay.

Rather than deride Justine, let's hope she can perform as well in the US Open. I would hope that the tennis ALL the elite players produce at the US Open is AT LEAST as good as what Justine showed on Sunday.

ok, no offense juju fans, and i'm sorry bout her mother, but here's my take:

she is getting WAY too arrogant before she's even gotten to number one. true, she has beaten all those ranked above her this year (except venus), and she has played some amazing tennis, but WTF??

she has never been my favorite player or someone i liked. ok, so her ruining the chances of capriati getting that thrid consecutive GS in 2001 "might" have something to do with it...but have you all seen how she looks out of the corner of her eye during her matches? it gives me the creeps. i may be wrong but she just strikes me as a girl who will win at all costs, whether its injury time outs or not admitting her hand was up at what-ever. wanting to win i admire. doing it with bad sportsmanship i don't.

i just like a girl who wins with pure skill, like kim, than someone who does it employing all the possible ways one can, albeit within the boundaries of tennis rules, like juju. does she fake her inuries? we'll never know and i'm not one to judge. but she just DOES NOT strike me as the most straight-forward player on the tour, you know what i mean?

but, all in all, what a beautiful backhand! (try to ignore the irony in that sentence). like i always say, may the best player win.

Just for a slightly off topic comment, if you research my prior comments regarding "Dirty Justine", I have always stated that she "needs to win" and I admire that desire in her.

Just like I liked Chucky while obviously cheering her humiliation at the hands of Queen Venus and like J Cap while obviously cheering her defeats at the hands of Mama Smash; I would like to happily welcome Dirty Justine into the rarified air of women who I root for against everyone except the Williams Sisters.

I didn't mind her shady actions at the French Open and the only thing I don't like about her and her coaches comments toward the Sisters is that they don't stand by them when questioned.

When they start backing up their trash, I will officially shout, "Go get 'em Peanut!!!"

Well get 'em all except the Sisters.

Lets face it, Justine is basically Belgian trash. She has no class at all.

Noone cares if she is little but her and coach. And I bet Serena is not even thinking about her. Justine may be on a win streak now, but it will eventually come to an end.

GO KIM!
GO VENUS!

We all know that the Williams sisters are better than Justine. So she beat Serena in the French Open(a game imo that had more 2 do with the crowd than anything). Its nothing if she does unless she does it again which didnt quite happen at Wimbeldon.

I hate these arrogant players.

Of course "it's nothing" that she beat Serena at the French... just a grand slam title of course...

Sometimes these posts are the literary version of hitting one's head against the wall

She didn't beat Serena in the title match. Beating Serena would have meant nothing if she didn't beat Clijsters.

true... I figured that was a given? I was only responding to the poster who claimed Justine has to beat Serena again and that the defeat in question wasn't worth anything.

And of course, the other player usually has A chance, even if its a small one.

Can I play?

Do Justine and Serena have the same build?? Wow I don't think so!

And what about Frenc Open? I think there was more to it than she lost the match from Serena! She just couldn't get it that Justine already beat her 2 times this year! And Serena said she can only beat herself? Give some credit will you? Serena is a good player, no doubt about it, but she must understand that a player can beat her because the other player is better at that time.

And about Serena and Venus laughing at Justine is true! i heard Justine saying it, Carlos saying, and Sabine Appelmans said it in an interview recently! How sounds that?

I'm not tall myself but I can understand that there are players who just don't get that a smaller player could beat them?? Just accept it and move on and take possitive revanche! Don't bash the players!

so maybe you can tell me where and when justine said that she was better than serena. She never made such statements.
and i didn't know you had to beat a player more than once to make it count. ( btw, justine beat serena 3 times)

1. About the French, what about it? in 2001 Martina Hingis beat Serena in the Austrailian tournements in a similar fashion that Justine did to Serena on clay, and while Serena certainly wasnt thrilled about it, you didnt see her crying. Jennifer Caps beat Serena 4 straight times (including at the french where she got no type of crowd support) before Serena got the upper hand, and while her attitude was less than stellar, she certainly didnt cry there either. Serenas response: she got off her ass and busted it to get back the upper hand, just as she will do against Justine :) so what makes you think Justine is sooooo special  that Serena is gonna cry over her? Justine is another challenge in which I think Serena(and I am more than confidendent) will find a way to tackle.

2.

Lets see once again we have one side of this so called story. See my post above about Carlos Rodriguez, do you wanna know why I dont believe a hogwash word that he says? See the New York Times article in which he encourgages his pupil to cheat and lie and he says that had it been any other opponent Justine would've given her two serves. This infact to me dissproves this bullshyt excuse that Justine came up with implying that she didnt "know" what was going on, bullshyt  and brings up the question about whether he has lied about other crap, same with Justine. Let me ask you this? Had Serena pulled this same crap on Justine and then Richard Williams runs his mouth to the New York Times bragging about the incident, would you be feeling this same way? Sabine Appelemans? Are you kidding?  this is the same woman who probably wouldnt give the Williams a complement if she was presented with a million bucks. Serena has never bashed Justine or her game, if you see a quote in which this is true, then bring it. As for the 9000 notches comment, the woman was assessing HER game, not Justines. I suggest that you go and read Serenas transcripts before shooting your mouth off.

Yes the crowd was wrong but did you see the final in Antwerp this year? That crowd was RUDE to Venus and did she cry? You can say what you like but I just won't believe that that was the only reason ... Serena had never let her go that way and she had the crowd against her before!

Venus......Serena.........Venus...........Serena

Not the same person/or personality. They are prone to reacting differently to similar situations...

Had Spirlea bumped Serena, Richard says Serena would have decked her, Venus shrugged it off, and in the post match interview didn't take the bait. Contrast that to Spirlea, who went on the "Fucking Venus Williams" tirade.

I know that Venus and Serena are differnt persons ... but I just wanted to point at the great way of reacting from Venus there. That's what I call being professional on court ;)

surfinggirl. stop already.Justine isnt perfect none of the players are. you are trying to say "oh these big bad williamses, laughing at Justine and all"....when in fact they have often PRAISED Justine, including calling her a "tennis artiste" (Venus). she goes onto say Williams finals are boring and to give someone else a chance. that was really unprofessional and classless IMO. even with the supposed "arrogance" of the sisters et al, they wouldnt have lowered themselves to such standards. so stop the Justine is an angel bullshit ok, cos i dont think anyone is buying it

And so stop doing the same that Serena and Venus are angels. I like Venus a lot, I walways root for her, if she doens't play Justine. I never like serena, because she never credits a player, Venus does. I didn't say that all.
But I already heard many stories about Venus and Serena laughing at Justine and if there are so many, why shouldn't there be a little truth in it??

I live in Belgium, so I can't read the New York post or what is it!
And I never mentioned Justine is an angel. I never said that. You read something I didn't write. Maybe you think that I think Justine is an angel?? Well if I must say living in Belgium, Kim is being considered the angel of belgium and not Justine, but I think she deserves some credit too.

And if you say that I should stop than read all these threads about this fight and I'm not the only one. Maybe you may accuse other fans too!

Justine sure talks much for a player who can only treaten Serena on clay. Wonder if she keeps talking this way when the losses start to pile up, like they did for Capriati!!! ;) Justine you´re good, but don´t push your luck!!
