Any news on MD wildcards?

Mary Pierce got one.I emailed the tournament and asked them if she plays the qualies or if she will have a wild card and they answered me : "maindraw". So I'm pretty sure now that she got a wild card. Go Mary!!!!

Thats a thrill obata and pierce. I wish Ally, Cory Ann, Tanner, Jewel, Lauren K, Jamea, and about 100 others got them instead.

I can see why Pierce could get the WD... but why Saori? not that I didn't like her or anything... This is American tournament... and she's Japanese? well?

Maria Sharapova was awarded a WC into the Japan Open maindraw last year. Seeing LA is an IMG (Maria's agent) tourney, they probably decided to award Saori a WC as an exchange. :)

14 yr old Vika Kutuzova got one
i knew she was gonna get one of either MD or qual some time ago.
just wish she got someone else in 1st rd :mad:
